So... seems like people that LOVED The Last Jedi aren't happy with this movie. I don't know if that's a good thing or not. Some are saying the movie insults Rain Johnson. To me that can't be that bad? I did like a lot of stuff in the last jedi, but it was a bad star wars movie.

I just checked my local cinema listings and each opening midnight screening has nearly a third of the seats left.
Last Jedi was full by the start of December.
So far non of the reviews coming out have inspired me to see it.

Do they do the 7pm showings the night before official release date on your side of the pond? I used to go to midnight showings, but once they started doing the 7pm shows, I said, "F that midnight stuff right in the A hole."

Mine has 12 screenings Thursday night and there ARE tickets... but you are gonna be sitting front row.

all earliest shows (7:00ish) are sold out... the ones that are not, look like this:

10:40 PM

And people still buy when they arrive...


Yeah I guess they do not have to hold off til midnight... or are the midnight shows on Wednesday...

Last night I told my kid if the house wasn't clean when I come home tonight she will be forced to go see this... she's been up cleaning feverishly since 7am.

It saddens me to think what we could have gotten with the Skywalker Saga for the ST and what we received. I'm excited for future projects such as the Disney + shows but the ST overall has been a massive let down.

I think the majority of the conversations that were going to be having about this trilogy in the future are the things about what they should have done and not what they actually did with the story.

So from what I've seen so far of the posts from the last day or so is that we are going to be in another endless feedback loop of people cherry picking negative reviews to support why the movie is terrible, and people cherry picking good reviews to support why it's great.

Might just be me... But I'm far less invested in this movie, and the trilogy for that matter - at this point.

I think for a lot of peoole, this movie was never going to be the one that saves the trilogy anyhow. Apathy has set in pretty well.

Despite whatever faults this movie contains, I bet TLJ will remain the stinker of this set, and people will argue/debate less about this film overall, after the initial shock has subsided.

unfortunately, Not having seen it won't ever stop people from complaining about it. I for one am very excited to watch this movie!

Tends to be 00:01 on the morning of the actual release day. They are running triple bills with TFA and TLJ leading up to the midnight show. As far as I know there is nothing the day before release.

Pfft. I boycotted Jumanji when they turned it into some sort of video game and shamelessly put that flavor of the month, THE ROCK in - and then shoe-horned in Jack black for fat diversity.

Only OG Jumanji in my house... not this sad attempt to cash in on gamer culture.
