While I agree with a lot of the points raised in these types of YouTube channels, I can admit many of them are too melodramatic for me in their delivery. The one posted above is prone to be gimmicky. I get the point of having anonymity, but that mask is so stupid.
I have to agree here.
Yes, the sequel trilogy creators are making some very questionable creative choices that are not being received the way that they had hoped, (just read this thread, and others); however, These Youtubers who call themselves members of “The Fandom Menace” frequently go way over the top with baseless claims that Disney, essentially, purchased “Star Wars” for $4 billion just so they could consciously execute a plan to dismantle and destroy it, legacy character by legacy character, and enrage the fans. Come on, really? What business sense does that make?
By their logic, I would also like to buy a Ferrari just so that I could drive it over a cliff, I guess?
I very much doubt that Kathleen Kennedy has a wall of photos in her office where she gleefully crosses off one character at a time, as they are destroyed. I doubt she hosts writer’s meetings where she declares “I want Chewbacca dead, Luke humiliated, and the Millenium Falcon destroyed. Focus groups have shown this will cause the most fan backlash, which is what we want—I want this franchise DEAD, you see.”
I completely agree that Disney’s creative decisions are pretty terrible, but INTENTIONALLY destroying something they have paid heavily to invest in?
Is the creative team that is bringing about the sequel trilogy misguided, seemingly without a coherent plan, and off-course?
Definitely.
Are they conspiratorially hell-bent on the destruction of the franchise?
No way.
