Or if not in the show itself, then definitely in the Complete Mandalorian Visual DictionaryDon’t worry guys! All the unanswered questions in this trilogy will be answered in The Mandalorian S2!
Omg I hate it...

Let's not forget, the OT left us with many many unanswered questions and we were mostly happier for it. I'm content to head-canon how Palps got to Exegol.
Like what exactly?
What questions were you left with from the OT that you need in order to understand how the world and events of the OT work that are on the same level as the mountains of questions created by things in the ST needed in order to understand the ST?
MauLer says it pretty well
First off, I don't need to know the specifics of how Palps ended up on Exegol. We see him there, so he did, and that's enough to move the plot.
But, since you asked, here is a list of things the OT did not address within the films that would have deepened our understanding of the universe of Star Wars. Of course, we know a great deal of these now, largely due to the EU and other nonfilm sources.

What the hell was a clone war?
How was Jabba the Hut a gang lord out in that lonely ass castle?
What's that skeleton out in the Dune Sea?
If the falcon is traveling at sublight speeds because the hyper drive is broken how are they going to make it to Bespin, or anywhere else before they die of old age?
Why doesn't Wuher like droids?
Is Tarkin the boss or is Vader the boss?
Where the hell is the emperor when his first superweapon is getting blown up? Like, it's his brand new toy. What is most important than that? Quelling dissent from disbanding the senate? Yeah right.
Are stormtroopers regular shmucks under there, or clones, or droids or what?
If Tatooine is in the Outer Rim then what's in the center of the galaxy?
Where did all those other bounty hunters Vader hired end up?
Do all those starships run on magic dust?
What crops was Luke supposed to have been dusting?
What species do all these different cantina aliens belong to?
Yub nub?
How do AT-ST and AT-ATs work? Like, those physics seem pretty wonky. Also, why not wheels? Wheels work pretty well.
How does a lightsaber work exactly?
If the force is an energy field can you tap into it mechanically?
That death star beam sure looks like a lightsaber beam...
We didn't know any of those things during the OT, and having since gotten a lot of that info it has deepened our knowledge of Star Wars lore a great deal. I get it, nitpicking is what we do here, it is our nerdly calling. All I'm saying, is we could do with stepping back sometimes and just accepting the story as told rather than looking for everything to be spelled out to us, because in the end, the exact manner of Palpatine's move to Exegol doesn't make any difference to the plot of the film or the overarching story of the saga.
If Bob Iger was a fraction of a good boss he would make Horn, Kennedy, Johnson and Abrams sit through this and his TLJ two parter with no toilet breaks and at the end make them write a 200 word essay on why he shouldnt take back the salary they made.I’ve been waiting for that Mauler review, after his podcast ROS discussion I knew he was going to critique it better than anyone.
Not a single one of those questions have any significance to the story of any of the films of the OT or the PT and more importantly neither do the answers to any of them. I can even say that 99% of them have never entered my mind either in 1977 or today. A video has recently been posted that is two plus hours of exposing important issues related to storytelling and the damage done when not approached at even the most base level.
Anyone who seeks answers to those questions or feel that their appreciation of the OT is lacking by their existence may want to watch this video. The RedLetterMedia crew can take the piss out of such things far better than I can.
Exactly. "Why doesn't Wuhrer like droids" has no bearing on the story. Palpatine coming back from the dead after we saw him thrown down a reactor shaft and then explode... that's kinda begging an explanation, no?Not a single one of those questions have any significance to the story of any of the films of the OT or the PT and more importantly neither do the answers to any of them. My whole point was that those questions didn't matter, and most of the "plot holes"or unanswered questions from TROS fall into the same category for me. It could have been more interesting, it could have done new things, but it's not any more full of holes or messy than the OT.
There is a distinct difference between exposition and elements of storytelling that make zero sense. This current trilogy is riddled with examples of both. That line from ROTS explains nothing. It was plucked out of the blue to use as a crutch for an incredibly rushed and unimaginative story. It was only written in relation to ROTS and its storyline. The man who wrote it has stated that Palpatine is dead and the man who played the part has stated he was only approached a year ago to play the part again. No more than where he came from in the first place. The OT never gave us on iota of a backstory for him. He was this offscreen character that people just talked about until the 3rd movie and people seemed ok with that. Until now when people need every little detail spelled out for them and if its not then it becomes a "plot hole".
EDIT - As an addition, if you really need to know how Palpatine came back, watch Revenge of the Sith. Its right there.

That makes no sense whatsoever to me. Where did Han come from? Where did Yoda come from? Where did Jabba come from? Where did any of these people come from? What's their back story? Doesn't matter! None of them magically were killed and then reincarnated! Their backstory doesn't have a material effect on the plot.
