Im the pest here so I'll say it.....

I have no problem with critical analytic discussions about this movie.. Hell thats why this thread is up.. right?

BUT.... When someones says, "I really enjoyed the movie". then in the next sentence says " I would have maybe changed this this and this.... and I didnt care for this this and this.. and I thought this this and this was kind of dumb...."

Then I'm confused...:confused

Love you guys.. please carry on..:)

Character arcs and themes? For the most part I saw lazy writing and ridiculous cringe-worthy scenes. And arent we all fans of Star Wars? I dont get the "fanwank". Wouldnt you want that? This movie wasnt new or fresh or original. As other people pointed out, it had ESB notes, and groan inducing sequences. Nothing was explored, and no questions were answered, and honestly, is probably going to make the rest of the trilogy be sub par because of it.

Ok look, I promise I'm not trying to be a smarta$$, just trying to understand where you are coming from.

What is it that your ideal new trilogy would explore? The middle aged lives of Luke/Leia/Han? Exploring new characters, but differently than what the current films have done?

So I keep hearing that the first order couldn't catch up to the resistance ships because they are smaller and lighters.....but isn't everything in space suppose to be weightless so it shouldn't matter.
I over all enjoyed it enough, but do see a whole ton of ridiculous stuff going on.

Typical. Why are you making this a Mark Vs Rian situation?

Why do you keep making small edits to your posts after you post them?

Why are you posting videos that are clearly edited and therefore - by definition - take Mark's word's out of context?

Why wouldn't there be conflict between Rian and Mark if Mark is as unhappy as you insist that he is?

The falcon couldn't outrun the star destroyers at sublight speed in ESB
