Star Wars: The Force Awakens (Pre-release)

Re: Star Wars Episode VII

I'd have figured Lando would've moved on to other things. Maybe Cloud City was just the start of a larger mining empire. And as for seeing Cloud City with 21st century effects...there's always the Special Editions. ;)

That is the only part of the Special Editions I liked. I love the way they made Cloud City look.

I agree. Vader probably took the thrill for mining out of him for good, so there's no telling what he's been up to since...

I think there were a few positives in the SE and Cloud City was certainly one of them. :thumbsup (that doesn't mean I don't want the originals preserved though. Lol)

Re: Star Wars Episode VII

For the sheer sake of preserving cinematic history, I'm all for preserving the originals. But honestly there are some parts of it that I couldn't go back to after the Special Editions.

Re: Star Wars Episode VII

I can take or leave the new Cloud City, myself. It's nice, in that it's not really as in-your-face as some of the other changes, but I don't mind the stark white version of the original.

One thing about the Kathleen Kennedy statement re: filming outside, though -- does anyone think this might mean less reliance on digital sets? God I hope so...

I CERTAINLY hope so! There are so many places on this planet that would work brilliantly for alien worlds and dramatic settings. :thumbsup

Re: Star Wars Episode VII

Careful, Jeyl might jump in here and accuse STAR WARS of having an Earth bias.... ;)

I don't think they called Tatooine, Endor, Alderaan, Yavin IV, Hoth, Bespin, Endor, Coruscant, Naboo, Kamino, Geonosis, Utapau, Kashyyyk or Mustafar "Earth".

Re: Star Wars Episode VII

Yes, 'cause he left out Dantooine... :angel

Re: Star Wars Episode VII

Hurray for her! Someone finally came out and made the statement. Not that we didn't really know, but all these formalities of secrecy get really old. And it seems the respondents are, for the most part, realistic in their expectations of her.
