Star Wars: The Force Awakens (Pre-release)

Re: Star Wars Episode VII

Whatever happens Han should not be some General just obeying some boring worthy high command, a prospect so dull it doesn't bear thinking about. Instead, he should split to go do some pirate-type stuff - his rogue side is tempted by some fantastic deal he couldn't refuse, an' an' Luke, right, Luke has to go after him an' an' try and make him be responsible again. Or something. And all the Jedi stuff can damn well play second fiddle to this.

Have there been any nebula's in 1-6? :)

Also, I don't think disney will likely be on it either. Check out the Avengers poster, for example, it has Marvel and Paramount, not disney.

there was a subtle one in Revenge of the Sith with the shot of the Tantive IV after they rescued Yoda.

hard to see in this shot but just as a point of reference for the scene I am referring to.

Re: Star Wars Episode VII

I hope we see some Luke Skywalker darkside in the new movies, could make an interesting arc throughout the next 3?

Re: Star Wars Episode VII

I think they should just stick with what works. Make a new empire that enslaves the rebellion again, and then our heroes have to come back and save the galaxy once more. Maybe the New Empire will have some kind of planet killing superweapon. They could call it...I dunno...the Galactic Crusher. And then when that one gets blown up at the end of Star Wars VII, they'll make a Galactic Crusher II for Star Wars IX. And in Star Wars VIII, we'll find out that the new emperor is Han Solo's father. He could be this really imposing guy in all black armor with a face mask and sort of an electronically tinged voice. We'd need someone with a deep voice to do the VO work though. Maybe Michael Jai White or Phil Lamarr.

Is the comet tail supposed to be the Falcon flying by?
:confused

Comet, falcon, ship, probe droid, etc...I dont really know myself. LOL

Dont know anything about the plot yet so i figured a starfiled with a bit of something going on would be proper...

Right. I saw it as a lightsabre beam. No handle, just the beam emerging from the fabric of space, like. Which would be really cool conceptwise, except I'm bored now with lightsabres - because of the prequels.

Re: Star Wars Episode VII

From what I understand, the stories will focus mainly on Leia, and Han's kids. (It's a Disney film) But if Uncle George is going to have any part into it, it will need to follow the Star Wars storyline from the movies, and the books. Harrison Ford has already offered up to be a part of the movies. At some point, Chewy dies saving the kids in the books, so he might not be in it for long.....

Dang, there go my hopes for 2+ hours of patented "looking" shots :rolleyes

But on the othyer hand, let me pull the same kind of unfounded claims and rumors from my posterior that the mainstream media has been for the last week:

"Speilberg says he will not direct 'a' Star Wars movie. This is code for he will direct THREE of them!"

Go to it internet, make it 'true'.

Lightsabres should not make more than 4 appearances in any film - only one of which can be of any real length of time. It kills the drama. And while I'm at it - why can't they pulse and flicker and shake like the old hand rotascoped days - they used to over expose random frames in compositing to give them their energetic edge. The prequel ones were so boring...yawn.

Harrison Ford has already offered up to be a part of the movies...

Where? Where has he said this? EW printed it as an "exclusive" a few days ago, but all they had were some quotes from a decade or so ago from the DVDs, and a quote from the presentation Ford attended for Empire's 30th anniversary. He said he didn't get it, but was happy to have been a part of the movies. It's hillarious to see this now being reprinted and quoted as saying that Ford has offered or is interested. The guy makes no secret of the fact that he doesn't like the character, doesn't like the prolonged effects work, doesn't need the money, and additionally is actually tied up for the next few years already, most notably on Ender's Game. This isn't happening.

The other hillarious oft-repeated nonsense was a misunderstanding of who Kathleen Kennedy is. In the last two days I've read numerous 'reports' saying that Speilberg is looking at the script, which is terrific because he's the co-chair and production partner at Lucasfilm. Wow! There's been all KINDS of interesting developments in Marin this week, haven't there?! Or, entertainment writers are notoriously lazy and sloppy, and misunderstood the Vulture article which named Speilberg and Kennedy in the same sentence as being previous production partners.:unsure

Face it, nobody knows nothin' at this point. There is a treatment, which Lucas and Disney say Lucas wrote, and an unnamed 'source' says someone else pitched ideas for and wrote. The 'unnamed source' says the trilogy will focus on the old heroes, at their current ages. This is clearly bullcrap. Likely Hammil will be present and accounted for. This purchase is part of Disney's attempt to continue being relevant to 8 year-old boys, much like the Marvel aquisition. Disney is not going to put a trilogy into production starring geriatric galactic heroes. It doesn't sell toys and jammies.

'Star Wars' sequel: Harrison Ford open to idea of Han Solo role - CNN.com

Harrison Ford could return for new Star Wars film | DAWN.COM Harrison Ford news.

It was said in the press release that the movies will pick up after ROTJ. If you read the books (SW) you would know that Han and Leia get married, have three kids, Chewy dies saving Anikin (the youngest), Leia goes back to politics, Luke goes to Yavin and opens up a new Jedi training temple.... And Lucas makes sure that the movies fall into the line of Star Wars story lines. Reguardless if Disney is making the films or not, the story line would not go south of what is already written.

It is already a hot topic in the SW community. Also knowing that the creator would not let anyone just go and make up a whole movie of new characters that didn't exist in SW previously for some crazy "Mickey Mouse" story.

You have to understand that the SW universe is already written.
