Star Wars: The Force Awakens (Pre-release)

Re: Star Wars Episode VII

I think it gives his face character. I can imagine Luke being battle scarred and perhaps a bit world weary. From a story stand point it could really sell the transition of an idealistic young man who became a hero, into an older, wiser Jedi master. By the end of Jedi he was still in his prime, having just achieved his knighthood. Even if his role in the new story was small, it would still be so great to see my favorite character in a brand new theatrical Star Wars movie.

War and falling on hard times definitely can physically take a toll on people. I don't have a problem seeing Luke in some of these conceptual pics people have been posting. It would be pretty fitting.

I think the look definitely works in his favor for the part he'd (likely) be playing.

Lets all be honest. No matter what your opinion of the prequel trilogy is... I can't wait to line up for this movie. Doesn't matter who is in it or who is directing it or what it is about. Yes the prequels did some damage to the Star Wars geek culture status, but Star Wars is still better than Star Trek, lol.

I wish I had your enthusiasm, but honestly, the period between 1999 and about 2007 pretty much killed what hardcore fandom I have about Star Wars. I'm far, far more skeptical now. The Disney takeover is interesting, but I remain dubious as far as what they'll produce.

For too many years, the Star Wars brand was plastered on stuff that I disliked or didn't care about. It became a brand, for me, which was too closely associated with disappointment than with satisfaction, let alone excellence. I still enjoy the OOT, and some of the peripheral stuff produced in relation to that, but nobody's making that stuff anymore and I'm no longer the target market, so it's hard to work up the enthusiasm.

Don't underestimate. I'm sure it's still there.

What if someone verbally told you that a teaser trailer for episode7 was posted online? How quickly would you make your way to a computer? Lol

If there was a showing of episode 7 this weekend, would you be there? Don't you want to stand in line and experience that comraderie again?

I'm sure your enthusiasm will reappear when the marketing kicks in. Star Wars is a bandwagon worth jumping on, just for the sake of the bandwagon itself, let alone the movie.

Up until recently I was right there with you. But as we speak my oldest son is reading the ROTJ read-along book with accompanying RECORD. :lol

Heaven is seeing your kids love Star Wars. :thumbsup

Hit the nail on the head! I have a buddy thats 42, married with no kids, his wife will not allow star-wars "toys" (anything other than a DVD)in their home. When he comes to our house he makes a Bee-line for my daughters SW stuff:lol, starts getting out the belts and cloaks and wants to have light saber battles.
Kids Rule!:cool

Why the heck did he marry a Sith Lord?

I echo that same sentiment. I will look forward to to the new films and see them once they hit the theaters(probably not on opening night), but my days of being a hardcore Star Wars fan are over.

Re: Star Wars Episode VII

For me yes, I was a tad disapointed with Phantom but you have to admit, visually it was still a thrill ride and that is a big part of seeing a Star Wars film... for the SPFX and the roller coaster ride it takes you on in a galaxy far far away. Most go to a Star Wars film for the wonderfully imagined settings, ships, battles and droids. A visual feast. Of course I demand more than just that but I was not disappointed in the industrial design spfx and action... although the CGI did overwhelm me on a subconscious level.... I feel confident the story and dialog will be much better this time around and CGI is getting better and more realistic.

Re: Star Wars Episode VII

:lol:lol:lol:thumbsup I plan on asking him that question next time he's here.

Actually, ask her directly. I can see it going like this:

You - "You're a Sith Lord"

Her - "I am not!"

You - "How many Star Wars toys is your husband allowed?"

Her - "Absolutely none"

You - "Only a Sith deals in absolutes"

:D:lol

Re: Star Wars Episode VII

If this wasn't too long, you would have just knocked Gino's quote out of the box!
