Star Wars: The Force Awakens (Pre-release)

I imagine this coming winter there will be many oddly familar snow sculptures. Armies of BB8's will march across the landscape and snowmen will become threatened with extinction!!!

Me again with the screengrabs :D
Obviously, the person that hands Anakins' lightsaber to the other person is an alien with big eyes.

I grabbed a couple of from the 4K screen grabs and boosted the midtones a bit.

Here are the Chrometrooper & the First Order Star Destroyer with improved visibility.

At first I thought the SD was just a modified Imperial II, but now it looks different. It seems bigger, with more tiers on the top.
Several discernible gun emplacements along the edge too.

I guess my question about the SD pic is more about the shuttle - are its wings in transition or are they in flight position?

Yeah I tried to notice if there was in any movement but couldn't tell anything. For me it seems backwards since the old shuttles' foils angled downward in flight.

As for the FOSD(?), it definitely looks bigger than the ISDIIs. It does not appear that the bridge tower was made much taller to allow for the additional tiers in front of it but considering the angle of the shot, that may be more of an optical illusion. We can see a sensor dome, but in my mind it seems like we should still be able to see the other (even just barely) but we don't. Maybe there isn't another or perhaps the configuration of the bridge itself is different?

I can't quite wrap my head around the star destroyer. there's some oddities that look a little off. So the bottom half sticks out further than the top half? And the tower looks like it sits lower than the top floor in front of it. Maybe I'm so used to the old school star destroyers.

the other odd bit it that it looks like the side edges run parallel together. But if the top triangle is shorter than the bottom triangle, they couldn't run parallel

But that chome trooper is pure sex. Totally badass

Yeah, it appears the new destroyers have an underbite of sorts. I don't think the tower is lower than that top tier but it doesn't appear to dominate over it quite as much, in comparison to the old ISDs.

Oh please please please let this movie be as good as we hope it is!!

Honestly, as high as my hopes seem to be, I will be pleased with anything better than Jedi. If it is better than ROTJ than it will have exceeded my expectations. And it can't let me down as much as Ep1 did, guaranteed.

My benchmark is the PT. If it's at least better than the PT, I will be happy. I'm not even going in with the expectation that I'll like it better than any of the OT movies. That's all purely subjective of course...

from the picture of the star destroyer it appears that if it could have two bridges? The angle of the bridge looks to be 90 degrees to the camera shot. So it looks like there should be two bridges.

Yeah, I was noticing that too. Or perhaps the bridge is a single structure that is a wedge or arrow shape atop the tower?

And I'm thinking that the top half of the triangle is shaped like the head on the bat symbol. Two points with a flat in between. Does that make sense? That's how it stops short of the bottom section

I'm guessing those are landing craft flying with the shuttle - we saw the troopers in some sort of craft in the first teaser, I'I figure that's it.
