Star Wars: The Force Awakens (Pre-release)

Re: Star Wars: The Force Awakens

Interesting that it mentions them boarding the Falcon to escape the planet.. It kind of reinforces an idea I had that Han has reverted a bit back to his smuggler lifestyle.. It would make sense if he's still sneaking wanted folks off planet, although he may be doing it to benefit the alliance or whatever the good-guys are in this new film.

The TK heights weren't *that* consistent in ANH...

It could imply that Ridley's character knows Han, assuming he is flying the Falcon in that shot.

Computer-generated shots need some kind of grounding. If the "camera" loops around Optimus Prime's head, under his armpit, and between his legs before sweeping around to the other side again, we're just as disconnected as the camera is. It has no limitations, no physics or boundaries, and it's distracting to everyone to different degrees. This shot is not that at all - this is what it would look like if you bolted a camera to a ship and flew it behind the falcon follow-the-leader style.
In the old trilogy, there are a few shots like this but the viewpoint is always attached to a flying ship. The camera is never on a ship that does complex maneuvers but is only imaginary.
If there is no ship to put the camera on, the view is more stabilised.

So... there should be an actual ship trailing the falcon if this shot stays in the movie.

Loving all the mash-ups and memes but I'm surprised no one has done a mash-up of Force awakens with the Holiday Special. :D

In other news, it seems the lightsaber ignition we hear at the end of The Force Awakens teaser is Luke's first lightsaber from ANH. Now, us Star Wars enthusiasts probably recognized that is was the same sound clip.....but I never even thought that it was suggesting it was the same lightsaber, as confirmed by GMA.

At 2:14 it is mentioned.

I feel that this little nugget of information seems to support the concept art that shows a character, very much in the likeness of Daisy Ridley, wielding Luke's lightsaber last seen in TESB.

Oh come now, do we honestly believe it was a conscious decision to use that particular sound and not just a random lightsaber sound that they threw in?

+1 it sounds like a different sound to me. Longer and drawn out more slowly.

***** people! I really think some of you need to go back and re-watch Star Wars (the unmolested version) and then Empire followed by Jedi. Then tell me if there was the same falcon flight in each... My guess, every film improved her flight dynamics due to better camera rigs and computer controlled systems. Let's not forget the better matt shots... :facepalm

The Falcon looks absolutely beautiful in that 5 second shot :popcorn

sooooo... when's the next trailer come out? (did we already cover this? I might have missed it in all the "pointless bickering")
