Star Wars: The Force Awakens (Pre-release)

Re: Star Wars Episode VII

I'm assuming that Episode VII will be good, but if it's not I forsee that JJ Abrams will forever be known as JarJar Abrams. That is all.

He already is in some circles, mostly by people who didn't like his version of Star Trek. Haters gonna' hate. :lol

Yes. "The next movie will be about Jar Jar's childhood."

Is there any announcement that could be made that would make any of us NOT see this movie?

I would still end up seeing it due to lack of willpower and staggering amounts of hesitant curiosity...

Then I would drown myself in a toilet immediately after leaving the midnight viewing of the movie.

Re: Star Wars Episode VII

it may not be done for a reason, again that release date for what the filming goal is, isnt too reasonable.

They've been working on this movie for a year and a half, since long before the Disney sale. There's no reason that in that time the script can't have been finished and polished already. Given that fact, the studio's release date is more than fair. Lucasfilm is dragging their asses now, second guessing all their decisions regarding the script, which doesn't bode well for the production. I still have hope that this movie will be awesome, though.

That's a lot of conclusion based on not too many real facts, no?

True, I can't be certain that they're dragging their asses, etc., that's just the impression I'm getting, but that they've been working on the movie for that long is a stated fact.

They have but you can discount any time Lucas and LucasFilm spent working on this story. What we can likely suspect is that Disney was going to start effectively on the first floor on this project.

Ok, say they did start from complete scratch on the project (excepting the outline by Lucas) after the Disney acquisition of Lucasfilm. They hired Arndt in November of last year. You're telling me that a professional writer whose done this many, many times before, takes an entire year to write a script? I don't think so. And only after that entire year of writing, and who knows how many drafts, do they decide that Arndt's work is no good and decide to start over yet again? I'm sorry, but Lucasfilm knew from the beginning when Disney wanted the movie released, so there is no excuse as to why they can't have it done within that time frame. I get that they're trying to make this the best possible movie after the huge backlash from the prequels, and i respect and want that too, even though I'm a part of the minority that actually liked the prequels overall. All I'm saying is that given the amount of time that's passed since the beginning of production, to say that the studio's release date is unreasonable is unreasonable in itself.
