Star Wars: The Force Awakens (Pre-release) (Spoilers)

So am I.
As for Leia's Vader saber, I suppose if she uses it (after all, it's a family heirloom!) Luke will have set her up with a non-red crystal.
I'm thinking Luke must have taken it at the end of RotJ just like Obi-Wan did in EpIII.

If Luke recovers his Bespin saber, both Skywalkers could be using their father's sabers. That would be a nice nod.

I think you're confused. It reads to me that "Leia's Vader saber" as you put it is Anakin's PT lightsaber, which became Luke's saber. I don't think Vader's red lightsaber will play into things at all.

The Knights of Ren actually do look like Knights, its a bit off putting but cool at the same time, its a small gang and they follow Kylo as his personal team!!!! There is a lot of medieval influence in this film for good or for bad, yet to be seen. Of all the costumes Ive seen the Ren Knights are standing out amongst the best ..

If all depends on the back story of the New baddies, are they the remnants of the Empire with s new name or are they something totally different that's just browsing the Empire's look. If they're Imperial remnants then they might not have the resources to build & design new TIEs and are using the old ones because they're cheap & easy to produce. If it's somebody else then maybe they just like the TIEs for the same reasons as above or the simply don't have anything better themselves. Besides, whose to say that these are the exact same model of TIE fighter that we've seen before, maybe they're a TIE mk. II or something; sort of life how we're flying F-15C Block whatever which only look like the original Block 1 F-15A but is a much different and improved version of the original.

I do think more and more that the First Order is making a move with whatever they can get -- decades-old landing craft and walkers, and the troopers' armor and the TIEs are either the only new-build stuff they could manage or were sourced from some sector Moff's personal garrison (maybe Hux or his dad, pre-ROTJ...?) and had been built that way decades ago, outside of the regular Quartermaster supply chain.

There's a part of me that wants to see some predecessor of the Second Galactic Empire from the Legacy comics show up and bail out Our Heroes against the First Order -- with Avengers and Interceptors and the "updated" Stormtrooper design from those comics. A nice compare-and-contrast, and also a pointed commentary that the problem with the Empire wasn't the Empire -- it was the Emperor. Not necessarily in TFA, but Ep VIII or IX. *shrug* A thought...

That could be, but you'd think the Empire would have TIE factories all over the place. I'm still hoping the galactic situation is similar to the EU where the Empire is fractured with all kinds of warlords, Moff controlled areas, etc. That would allow them to make movies where each faction is an enemy.

I hate the added celebration scenes. Tatooine wouldn't care, Cloud City would barely notice, and Coruscant would be in official mourning -- if the government ecen acknowledged the Rebel propeganda. ;) I hope Aftermath shows what I've wanted since first seeing that in the SE -- rignt after the camera cuts away, the tanks and troops roll Iinto the plaza to shut that celebration down.

Also, I don't think Kylo's wearing Vader's helmet. Look at the action figure masters again...

I think as far as Coruscant, that might be how they're going. The old EU (one of the Wraith Sqd. books) had Stormtroopers opening fire on the crowds celebrating and the new book (Shattered Empire, I think) that will come out before TFA had an excerpt where a father and son from that crowd pulling down the statue see the Empire's response which is similar to the old EU except the crowd fights back.

I forgot to add that I was wondering if these Knights of Ren might be the Empire's (or just First Order) response to Luke rebuilding the Jedi.

I don't think we can assume anything about their origin. The only hint of something similar is the flashback showing a gang of 7 as it's referred to seeking Luke's lightsaber.

I wonder. One of the pictures on the back of the new 3.75" figures shows a "younger" Luke (or at least a version without the beard) . Could it be that the awesome reverse aging effects they used on Michael Douglas in "Ant Man" are used in the flashback? Also some new information on characters is being revealed.

And WHERE can we see that?

...but ALL the figures there are from the new film,....and theres an ESB style Luke?

J

Actually, if you look at the card for the figure, neither of the Luke or the Darth Vader have the "Force Awakens" subtitle on them. So I don't think they are meant to be directly related to the movie

As to that OTHER picture that was posted just a few posts down – I know this is an incredibly unpopular view among the fandom, but I really was hoping they would not make Luke look like Obi-Wan Kenobi. It seems too simplistic and just doesn't fit my conception of the character. Oh well.

I agree with you.....Tatooine farmer garb is the official uniform of a Jedi

Luke's Episode VII Costume Leaked!

So a buddy of mine found this and I figured you would all like to see it!

I think he looks great! It has an old Ben vibe but it still feels and looks like Luke. The only thing was that my friend and I were a little sad that we could not see his lightsaber. Definitely hoping for the v2 or at least some form of his ROTJ saber. Opinions?
