Star Wars: The Force Awakens (Post-release)

Huh, I thought Chewie was a high point of the film. I guess different strokes...
BTW, Leia & Han had a different gait as well, and Luke didn't have a gait at all.

What I want to know is at the end of the movie why did Finn and rey climb to the top of the building? after 5 views I still don't get it . they climb up to the top see han talk to kylo and then when all hell breaks loose have to climb down which apparently took long enough for kylo to get ahead of them . they did nothing while up there, didnt plant a bomb or anything up there. it was like that was just where there tickets were to watch the show or something.

The day the RPF complained about the way Chewie gave Han his coat. We've hit the bottom.
It was the way han LOOKED at chewie they did not like . now the RPF has corrected you on what will go down in history as the great han/chewie coat debacle! Lol

**** 'em.

Seriously. Objecting to a black stormtrooper when it's clear that, in the Star Wars universe post-ROTJ, the stormtroopers are NOT clones? Yeah, you're just a racist jagoff.

Apparently the first order are spieciest as all storm troopers seem to be human .

I can admit to having reservations about the casting when first announced - but since that point and especially after seeing the movie - they were unfounded. I thought he kicked butt...perfect for the role IMO.

Well, I always equated the Empire to being space Nazis consisting of stuffy, white men. I associated the Alliance being the picture of diversity. So I too initially thought it was odd to have a black guy and a woman playing stormtroopers but it just isn't that big a deal. John Boyega killed it and is a credit to the series.

Than how does Luke constantly use the dark side . he used his fear and anger to defeat Vader! Yoda even told him only a fully trained Jedi knight could defeat Vader without becoming an agent of evil
(I guess he still could be and maybe that is why he is hiding out) but according to everyone here he just decided not to like he is immune to the dark . I am hoping he does become a grey Jedi which balances the force for good . it is not cannon any more but before the Jedi and what became the lords of the sith broke up they used to practice both light and dark together

The Story group has said that their vision for this trilogy is that Luke was the first Jedi accept that his dark side was a part of him, rather than separate. They feel that this is why he became quickly so strong with the Force, whereas they feel that the other Jedi ultimately lost their connection to the Force because they practiced denial of their "dark feelings" instead of training to work through them and instead choose not to give in. They have stated that this is why they feel Luke was an "entirely new entity", and that this thinking gives rise to the only real balance that there could be in the Force: you learn to control your Dark Side rather than deny it even exists.

Well yeah, I agree. And you get that racist committment to the pure race, etc etc. We are the chosen. etc etc I mean they didn't even have non-humanoids if I recall. The Empire was indeed space Nazis.
So yes, the new diverse empire does seem less scary. Equal opportunity tyranny. LOL
And guess what? they had a defector. So diversity has it's downsides when your trying to run a tyrannical entity.
and perhaps conversely, the rebellion couldnt keep things buttoned down, because well.... where the hell is it now? fighting the empire again.

he acted out of character in all of his big moments--the light moments and the heavy moments.

How do you *know* this? For example, how do we know that Chewie's reaction to seeing Han killed in front of him (one of his "big moments') is out of character for him? We have never seen him in that situation before.

And as far as something "light"-- for example his macking on the nurse--just because we see him do things we haven't seen him do before, it doesn't automatically follow that those things are "out of character" for him.

I think she understands that now. Hopefully my pedantry didn't offend her.

No, it didn't. :lol

I expect most who believe in a soul would agree that the soul is our "essence", so the quote--though not verbatim--still carries the same meaning and therefore works whichever way one wants to use it.

Not to mention the fact that someone *assumed* I was quoting Shakespere, when in fact no quotation was given. hence why I am not offended, because I never intended to quote Shakespere, whether correctly or not. :thumbsup

Plot device, nothing more.

Either that or they were necking up there. It was obviously Disney's PC agenda to lay the foundation in TFA for Star Wars' first inter-racial couple. Stay tuned.
