Star Wars: The Force Awakens (Post-release)

Re: Star Wars TFA - How much they got paid **SPOILERS**

But I am betting they are getting all that back and more from the box office, I am betting it wouldn't make as much without him.

yeah genius, I have been here since 2002 participating and contributing to this forum, thanks for the history lesson.

I know. I was trying to be polite by not mentioning that if after 13 years the concept still eludes you, then you should avoid questioning the intellect of others. Ever.

So much for politeness.

Also, you didn't answer the question.

Re: Star Wars TFA - How much they got paid **SPOILERS**

...I am betting it wouldn't make as much without him.

Seriously? A part of me thinks it would have been BETTER without him.
I was totally on board with Rey and Finn from the git-go.
Didn't need Han even a little bit.
Imagine the film without Han or Leia...
Same film, just shorter. Neither of them were necessary.

Okay, here's a strange thought-what if Rey is Anakin "reincarnate"? Fixes things, great pilot, no father around, strong with force, drawn to anakin's saber, can understand droids...interesting idea?

i don't see the difference. they're both strapped to a rocket more or less.

Re: Star Wars TFA. Warning spoilers and I hate it!!! Haters and Lovers Welcome

Actually having read that how would Ren know it was Vaders after all neither he nor Rae were around. I would assume most would consider it was lost for good in that small area known as space.
I simply cannot imagine that anyone would have said to them - if you come across a lightsaber that has 6 strips of track fitted with screws and a bit of gold plated activator strip then it's your grandfather's!
They should have simply used the Rotj one far easier and more plausible to explain.

Some good points although he moans about us getting more of the same, & complains that we have atmosphere battles instead of space battles which would be......more of the same

I like to think that the reason we see snow speeders in ESB is due to the fact that X-wings are not adept for ground assault

Assuming one is buying the soundtrack, it seems one can skip downloading the following from the Disney site:
The Scavenger 1:52
The Rathtars 1:19
Snoke 2:07
The Starkiller 1:52
The Abduction 1:35
Torn Apart 4:24
Farewell and The Trip 3:49

The rest of the Disney site stuff has much duplication, but they are longer versions. Several additional tracks as well.

I don't know what you need or don't need if you have the soundtrack album. Maybe someone can help with that.

The Attack on the Jakku Village Part 2; Lunchtime; Finn's Trek; You Got a Name?; I'm No Hero; The Resistance; Finn and Poe, United; The Bombing Run; The Journey Home

This list is just based on titles from that site compared to the soundtrack. I get the feeling that a lot of them are contained within other songs from the soundtrack though.

Re: Star Wars TFA. Warning spoilers and I hate it!!! Haters and Lovers Welcome

Dude, you know I'm a reasonable guy who tests relatively well. That said, I get it just fine; I just don't love it. In fact, I don't have anyone in my immediate center of influence (outside of this forum) who has rated this movie any higher than a 6 on the 10 scale. That's saying quite a bit considering some of the enthusiasts with whom I work/ associate.

I don't think there's anything wrong for some to desire a little more after a 30+ year wait. Sure, a few could articulate themselves better; agreed, this isn't a childhood wrecker, but I swear I saw the same film almost 40 years ago, when it was called Star Wars.

There really is no getting past the fact it's a reboot disguised as a sequel. As I've said. Well done them, but I'd hoped for better. It requires zero effort for me to yield to those who love it. I mean, what's it really matter? Curious how the same courtesy isn't afforded to those who are less enthused.

Love ya just the same. ;)

ANH drops you into the middle of a universe with zero preamble or exposition beyond the crawl. TFA does the exact same thing but everyone has meta knowledge and have their own expectations as to what the galaxy is now. Just let it go and enjoy the film. It's that easy. This thread is sad, that this movie by every metric is terrific and yet a TINY handful just can't get it.
