Kasdan made an astute comment about how ANH is confusing as well too. Obi Wan talks about "the clone wars" as if the audience knew what the hell he was talking about, no other exposition.
Apparently you're one of those people who needs to be spoon-fed.
I am not. I feed myself.
Ben's offhand mention of "the clone wars" sent my imagination into OVERDRIVE.
As well as the imaginations of my friends.
Which is why the prequels were such a disappointment to us:
We had already imagined, argued, re-imagined, and refined what we imagined "the clone wars" to be.
For YEARS. That was my childhood, man.
I feel really sorry for you. I can't imagine life without imagination.
I don't mean to come across as a pompous jerk. I honestly really do feel sorry for you.
Umm...what?
I'm sorry, I think you must have missed the first part of my post. Or, most relevantly, "I want to know more."
....I guess I just don't understand why you're directing your energy at me, because I'm not making whatever point you think I'm making. I haven't a damned clue how me saying that I'm drawn into the film and want to know more, becomes "spoon feed me information" to you.....Or that I don't have an imagination?
My point was in response generally to people saying that there are "plot holes." Some of those things are not fair (or not yet fair) to call plot holes, because there's more story to follow.
P.s., for the record, I thought the clone wars were like people's evil clones gone wrong when I was a kid.
Why would how much an actor got paid be considered a spoiler?
Another Thread on TFA. Maybe I should make one of my own since it seems like it's the wild west with no marshalls.
No matter what you say about 65 million or 35 million.... neither number is NOTHING. I could almost buy my own ship for that.
