All of the D+ shows that use the Volume extensively have this feeling to me. And not just the Star Wars shows.

The Acolyte wasn't filmed in Manhattan Beach, where the Volume is; it's not a Favreau/Filoni production.

This is 100% Leslye Headland and was filmed in the UK. But who knows, maybe they have their own version of the Volume there.

There are tons of volume stages in the UK, including one run by ILM that’s bigger that the Manhattan Beach stage.

Hmm. I guess it just looks “okay.” I can’t say there is anything that made me feel excited about seeing this from the trailer, but as always, I’ll give it a chance! Even as someone who isn’t really a fan of the Jedi, I feel as if Disney has squandered every story that involves them as main characters so far.

I watched the trailer, and figured this must be part of the hunt for Jedi during the rise of the Empire....but, reading on it, I guess not.
Says its 100 years before Episode I.
I guess its good they are expanding from the 9 films and all, but just watching that trailer, it really doesn't peak my interest to much.
I'm already so far behind on all the other shows.
Also seeing Carrie-Anne Moss, its still hard not to type cast her from the Matrix films.

They did that with Obi-Wan and Anakin's costumes in the Kenobi flashbacks. You'd think that the robes would be easy to replicate since they a bunch in the archives.
Depends if they can get access to the archives and if they even have the time. It also depends on things like cost of the fabrics and so on. If I remember correctly fabrics like the robes were custom made fabrics based off the ww2 fabric they used for ep1.

Lucas spent a lot of money on costumes, possibly more than he did on the cg stuff. I don't think anyone else will ever be able to do that, unless they are doing a strong flex to the industry.

‘The Acolyte’ is going to do for Jedi costumes what ‘The Mandalorian’ did for Mandalorian costumes.

Instead of replicating a movie characters costume you can basically make any custom Jedi costume and you’re an Acolyte-era Jedi.

I think the concept is great, but I'm not feeling it with this trailer. The fight choreography feels amateurish like most of the Disney stuff. The one part where the Jedi is fighting the bad guy who jumps and does some spinning kick thing in the air is ridiculous. Being a martial artist for around 36 years, you are taught ways if someone kicks or attacks to misdirect, angle away, or put someone off balance so they miss. The Jedi in that scene could easily Force push that person in mid spin, where they can't defend against that, and take them out of the fight. It just doesn't seem like the writers on these shows even rank up near the authors who wrote the old EU books! The Jedi, at least in the EU, are trained in martial arts, so they should be able to fight pretty well. Heck Obi-Wan took Jango on hand to hand and held his own. I think we're seeing budget come into play in a lot of these shows were they don't want to pay for the special effects because the Jedi in the EU fought more realistically than in this so far.
