I LIKE BIG HILTS

AND I CANNOT LIE

It’s 1980…

…and Kenner toys accurately predicts the size of future The Acolyte lightsaber hilts. ;)

Here's my quick and dirty prototype next to a ANH Graflex for comparison. It certainly is "beaucoup":

I genuinely prefer slim and ergonomic designs of Prequel trilogy hilts. Not the thermos looking chonky hilts even larger than Graflex 3 cell flashgun. I get that the technology for longer battery power made them do so, yet I don't understand why the prop team would not use carbon bladed stunt props from OT and PT, and rotoscope the plasma blade.

Or the long tradition of stunt props and hero props. Stunts being the thicker, chunky ones, and the heroes can be as nice and slim as wanted.

16 pages in and we’re still talking about the sabers being fat?
It's still hard for some of us to get past. When I think of a lightsaber, I still think of the OT sabers, with Obi-Wan describing them to Luke as "an elegant weapon for a more civilized age." Maybe that's just old Ben waxing poetic in his twilight years, but it's kind of ingrained in me. These sabers don't look very "elegant."

Not what we want but it’s something

Looks like we'll get individual character models too:

My headcanon is that the lightsabers are thicc to honor how they looked when Star Wars The Old Republic first came out.
