Star Wars: Skeleton Crew

Yeah, my wife and I watched the last episode and didn’t really care for it either. She had questions on what the end game of the war lord really was, and why the kids got conned into literally any of it. Since they were outsiders, you’d think they’d be questioned and pumped for any information they could get.

I noticed some ATST driver helmets in the more friendly group. That makes me assume this planet was at least occupied recently by Imperials, or they have at least had contact with them.

I also didn’t understand (like literally) what the names of the factions were.

By far the weakest episode so far. The series started out really strong though, so we will definitely keep watching! The “just shoot me” line by Jod was fantastic. Really identified with that as of late, lol.

Following in the footsteps of the throwback-styled “Youngee Wim (Bunky Dunko)” track and music video, might I suggest…

(Yeah these are just Photoshops…so who do we have to petition for a whole album? Weird Al?)

Troiks and Hattans.

Episode was an allegory for the cold war between the US and former Soviet Union. Troik = perestroika = Soviet economic policy that led to military overspending and food rationing, shown as plot elements. Hattan = Manhattan = either the atom bomb project, or symbolic of the US as a whole. “King No-Head” was Lenin. The Troik leader’s monologue about loving their children alludes to Sting’s 1985 track “Russians.”

Keep an eye out for more Big Metaphors. Pretty sure I know what everything’s leading up to but shouldn’t say more. Spoilers!

To each their own opinion, but I've found in most episodic television, the episodes that are dismissed as 'filler', 'plodding', 'boring', 'slow', or the good ole 'didn't advance the plot/story', are all usually the episodes where you really get character development & get to know who they are.

This episode did a lot for Neel & Fern, plus as I said earlier, it's set up a HUGE plot point for the way the series is probably heading, so I have to say I enjoyed it for what we got.

I always thought by the F/X people talking in articles and interviews that spaceships must be designed so that the audience can immediately understand what is what and how the mechanics work. So in my head the kid's ship, for the first 3 episodes, had its cockpit in front, like the usual design, it is so dark that I’m not sure what is what.

Well in the 4th episode, I understood that the cockpit is on its side, ( oh ya! Just behind a repulsor engine, of course). I was like ( during the show)
‘’ Is that a cockpit beside the body ? ’’ and my 22-year-old daughter (studying psychology) was like ‘’Duh! Of course Dad, it’s just like the Falcon'' like if I was a moron not able to understand things’’ …..Dam! I must become too old for this.

Outside perspective on what just happened:

I) You raised her well
II) She knows you did
III) Because of 1 & 2, above, she was shocked you hadn't put more effort into figuring it out before laying your shame out for all to witness
IV) She is currently:
A) questioning her childhood
B) questioning your identity (possibly a replicant and or The Thing/Pod person)
1) looking for a handy weapon
2) thinking up other possible methods for confirming your identity
C) questioning your senility level
1) time to discuss retirement

I thought the cockpit was also centered? I know there’s thrusters that pivot on both sides that look like they could be misidentified as the cockpit.
