Star Wars: Detours trailer

Just watched it again. It isn't so much the low quality or the direction that irks me. It's the overwhelming sense that everyone at LucasFilm is done with Star Wars as a serious franchise. Is there no one at Lucasfilm that wants to just tell an awesome Star Wars story that doesn't depend on parody or that a**hole Anakin?

I think this is it exactly. Lucas said he was done with Starwars so he hands it off to people who try to market it to hell and back even as the quality falls apart just to make a buck as Lucas Films doesn't seem to have much else going on. Eventually Lucas'll do this with the Indy franchise too.

I kinda liked it. I dunno why...lol.... People take Star Wars so damn seriously. The original Trilogy will always be therefor us. Star Wars just isn't like that anymore. It's something that just ins't taken seriously anymore by the majority. This is poking fun at itself and I think it's kinda funny.

Thank god Warner Bros. thought the same way when people didn't take Batman seriously after Batman and Robin.

Man, what bitter fan rage. I think this looks like great fun. Sorry you guys don't think so but I welcome this.

I'm not even a huge Star Wars fan anymore I just found it obnoxious and poorly done. I like the OT but I also like the later games and EU stuff that I grew up reading.

I enjoyed the original Robot Chicken Star Wars 1 and 2 as well as the Family Guy stuff, but this looks like an extremely dumbed down Clone Wars cartoon.

I will agree it's a perfect title, because it's quite a major detour for sure...

It looks NOTHING like the Clone Wars! :rolleyes

I LOVED it. Looks hilarious.

I can't wait for this.

It's just too bad because of this they came to my house and took all my copies of Star Wars so I'll never be able to watch them ever again.

Oh, wait, no they didn't. I can still totally enjoy the original movies and enjoy this as well.

Wow. I've truly got the best of both worlds.

I liked it. I enjoyed the Robot Chicken and Family Guy versions also. Like others have said, we can still watch our beloved trilogy whenever we want. I still have my "original" versions on vhs that I will NEVER give up. This is just a new take that goes after a younger generation. GL has said that's who he wants it to be about. Not us 40 y.o. nerds but the younger generation. Just look at Jar Jar. Most kids love him but I know we all cant stand him.

It doesn't change my love for the OT. Nothing can. This looks unfunny, uninteresting, and uninspired which is pretty much everything Star Wars related that Lucas has had a direct hand in since the 1990's. Star Wars has literally become a parody of itself. That's all that this show proves. Time to move on to other things. : )

I love the Original Trilogy films, have accepted the Prequel Trilogy films for what they are, enjoy watching both animated Clone Wars series, have read and enjoyed some of the Expanded Universe novels, have fun playing the Lego Star Wars games, and think the Family Guy versions of the Original Trilogy films are funny. That said, I don't take Star Wars so seriously that I can't enjoy good parody.

This was just boring.

Haven't people had enough of crap like this?? There hasnt been a good Star Wars parody since Battlestar Galactica.

Dear George, please put Star Wars to rest.

It had a nice run, but this is the bit with the shark, the ultimate straw, the point where sane people are considering shooting you in the face to make the madness stop, the point where the good yummy stuff has turned into a big artery clog and the arm is feeling numb. The next step is the dark side.

George you hate the Christmas Special. This completely voids any reason you may ever have to hate the Christmas special. The CS was bad, this is raping the childhood memory, cutting off its limbs and leaving it to die in a pool of lava.

Please George, we'll do a kickstarter if you need more money, we don't want you to starve, but please stop hacking into our collective imagination with an icepick and claim we love it. We may be collectively stupid, but not that stupid.

George, I discovered a strange lump I didn't have before Detours. It's a sign.

Give it up. Shut it down and let us rest for a while. Think of all the small personal movies you could finally make ...
