Star Wars: Detours trailer

Star Wars jumped the shark back in 1983 when the Rancor keeper started blubbering and everyone else started burping.

I LOVED it. Looks hilarious.

I can't wait for this.

It's just too bad because of this they came to my house and took all my copies of Star Wars so I'll never be able to watch them ever again.

Oh, wait, no they didn't. I can still totally enjoy the original movies and enjoy this as well.

Wow. I've truly got the best of both worlds.

Me TOO! This looks pretty funny.

I think Uncle George just wanted to put something out there that makes the prequels look brilliant by comparison. If that's the case, Mission Accomplished!

For the record, I enjoyed the Robot Chicken specials and 2 of the 3 Family Guy SW shows, but this thing looks like an absolute atrocity. I think I'd be less offended if Lucas came to my house and took a **** on my head.

proof that George will always have the motivation to turn a once popular trilogy, into a three movie drop of water, in a sea of terrible spin offs...in an attempt to never come up with another idea ever.

That being said, if this were a fan work, it may come off as at least slightly amusing. But knowing it's by Lucas, it's just sad. Almost too sad to anger me.....but only almost.

I started laughing. I'm not sure if it was because it was genuinely funny or so bad that I laughed at how poor it was.

I'm torn. On one hand, Some of these moments were sort of funny. On the other hand, this show won't live to see more than one season.

Well, I showed it to my wife...

While I hated it she LOVED it. Thought is was funny. The kids will LOVE it. That's good I guess.

As long as Seth Green wasn't serious when he was talking about canon I can keep my nerd rage at bay I think.

That trailer/teaser was 3 and a half minutes long. While watching, I was saying to myself "how long have I been watching this crap? Feels like 10 minutes."

I was at 54 seconds...

Here's the thing that's really been making me think. Would Christopher Nolan ever sign off on something like this? How about Peter Jackson? Or James Cameron? What about Ridley Scott? I'll also include Spielberg in that group because as bad as Indy 4 was I don't think he was the one ultimately responsible for it. It seems like Lucas is the only person who has no problem making a mockery of the franchise he built and is willing to cheapen it if it means more money in his pockets. There was a time when I used to support the man and I wasn't even as bothered as most were by the Special Editions or the Prequels. However, with the changes he made to the Blu-rays, his unwillingless to release the OT and now greenlighting this show I have about the same amount of respect for him as I do for the Kardashian family. At the end of the day, they're just whores who will do anything for a dollar.

I believe the term is sellout. Where he once lobbied against the colorization of older movies but then ends up doing this and numerous other atrocities to the franchise its quite unbelievable.

The beauty of the Robot Chicken Star Wars parodies was that they at least had some satirical bite to them. By sending up the Episodes and specific character scenes they managed to be original, caustic and pretty subversive, which is what you really need to make it wickedly funny entertainment . A light touch of the darkside so to speak. I felt they were running out of good material towards the end but the majority of it was strong and great fun.
This was just so weak. Caricature without the necessary wit to make it even marginally amusing. "Cute" does not make characters funny. Instead of bitingly witty we got a cartoon so humorlessly toothless but so desperate for affection that it slobbers its great ugly overblown style of animation all over your screen without having the decency to be even slightly whimsical about it after . I felt I had to go have a bath after watching this ,or at least wash my hands I felt so unclean. ***t in every sense of the word.

I was really disappointed that I was not going to see their panel. Now I feel much better.

Sent from my Etch-A-Sketch

The trailer has a few mildly funny jokes, the jokes in the clips almost completely drained me of the will to live.

The worst part is that a bunch of the jokes aren't aimed at kids and I'm sure a lot of it will go way over their heads.
