Star Wars Credits and Coinage - References and Recreation

They are $80 on the ship for the set I have a set coming from a friend that was just there

The problem I've seen with the credits available from Disney and the copies online at Etsy and Ebay, is that the markings on them are invariably nonsense: for example, there's a New Republic coin that is supposedly a 500 credit coin, but the aurebesh tech numbers on them actually say 51 (a 5, then a dot, then another dot. Because they miss out the space that's supposed to be between the zeros, it turns the 00 into 1. This error is on the Disney originals, and it's made its way into all of the 3rd party copies.

There's the same problem with the 100 credit coin, which shows a value of 11 (again because they're missing the gaps between the zeros. Then there are the old Republic credit chips that just say "rowe" in aurebesh (presumably "Republic Owe': but they don't say how much they're worth. Again, the error is on the Disney originals and on all the copies.

The Disney New Republic 50 and 250 credit coins are (accidentally) correct because they don't have two zeros next to each other.

Then there are the long ingots, which make absolutely no sense. They have pseudo aurebesh tech symbols, but if you can read aurebesh tech, the numbers are gobbledegook. Again, the error is on the Disney originals and on all the copies.

The only really useful ones are the wupiupi coins available from hyperspace props on Etsy, which come in values of 4, 16 and 64 (equivalent to 2.5, 10, and 40 galactic credits), but we only know that because of the names of the coins and the values posted online. The only one of these that actually states its value on the coin is the copper 4 wupiupi coin (weirdly it's the only text written in aurebesh - it should be in Outer Rim Basic), and "wupiupi" is misspelled! And on the silver coin there's some text in Huttese Outer Rim Basic which misspells the huttese word "Lorda" (lord). Respect to Hyperspace Props for giving us these coins - admittedly they are nicer than the Disney props, but I hope they fix the spelling errors if they do another 3D print run. And it would be nice to have the values printed on all the coins.

No one - not even Disney - seems to get all their coin props 100% right, presumably because no one reads aurebesh, so they can't check to see check to see if the aurebesh or outer rim basic text makes sense. I wish I knew where these companies are getting their metal credits made - I'd do it myself (since I read aurebesh and Outer Rim Basic, I could get the text right). But I don't have a clue where to go to get them made.

By the way, if anyone is ever interested in making props that have the correct values on them, I'd be happy to help them get it right. I can read aurebesh, aurebesh tech, Outer Rim Basic, and Mandalorian.

Speaking of items having the wrong Aurabesh, if someone asks you what you want something to say, don't say "Just put whatever you want" to any of the smart*sses on here because you'll possibly end up with something very vulgar. I can't remember who did it, but not funny dude!

Here's my version of the casino chips found on the Star Wars Galactic Star Cruiser: Halcyon.
Sample Set.JPG

They're a mash-up of the chips found on the Galactic Star Cruiser: Halcyon today (bottom of photo2) and a scene from the Star Wars comic book (top of photo 2) "Halcyon Legacy Part 2: A Most Dangerous Gamble", where you can see both circular and hexagon chips on the Sabacc table:

They are double-sided and printed in solid-color gold, silver, copper, and orange PLA plastic.

Like all my other credits and coins, they have embedded steel weights to give them some heft, increasing the realism without making them too heavy.

The Halcyon, a Starcruiser built on Corellia for the Chandrila Star Line, has a long, storied history.

In the time before the events depicted in the "Phantom Menace" (32 BBY), it was a casino ship run by the Hutts.

These chips were often found in the pots at the high roller "Coruscant Shift" Holo-Sabacc table in the Halcyon's Starlight Lounge.

Been on the hunt for some accurate prop credits, and Hyperspaceprops seems to pop up rather often in online discussions. I was wondering how everyone would rank different propmakers for credits? Would appreciate any recommendations and rankings to guide me on my hunt!

This is really weird...
When I tried to recreate the credits from the Solo-movie, I was really dissatisfied, because I wasn't able to match the on-screen color of "light red" and had to go for orange:

And now Disney revives the design with slight modifications and goes for orange themselves!
Maybe I should sue them for theft of intellectual property. :p
Anyways- I'm not going to rework my original design. Glad though, I already worked out, how to cast the transparent acrylic pieces into a metal-resin-blend...

This is the next step in my quest to replicate all the credits and coins in the Solo movie (no chak-root or skins! :) ) .
I'm releasing my version of the Octagon Red Vertex coins seen in the Sabacc card game where Han Solo won the Millennium Falcon from Lando Calrissian.

The coins are double sided and have embedded steel weights to give them some heft, increasing the realism without making them too heavy.

They have stepped edges and face insets with a red colored insert just like in the movie.

The last photo is a screen grab from the movie, coin is at the bottom.

Hyperspace Props and J46Designs have the best chips hand down. Their metal credits are amazing and less expensive than other makers.

Both of them have credits that the other doesn’t.

I don’t believe that the actual credits are metal. I think they are metallic plastic, with the circuitry engraved all the way through each one. Seeing them splayed out in the fan, you can see the other layers of top of each other. The metal waller will be the toughest part of it for them.

Isn‘t this some kind of wallet? Looks like one to me. You slide in the credits and it holds them in place. Thus, I don’t think the money itself changed (i.e. added metal to it).

If you look carefully you’ll see that the pattern is not engraved, it’s cut out. You can see the finger of his gloves through the top credit.

I think the "wallet" was just a device so he could quickly fan out the credits for dramatic effect.

Here's my version that credit alongside the first place they showed up in the Star Wars Universe. That was in the "Star Wars Rebels" TV show (Season 1, Episode 11) titled "Idiot's Array": Idiot's Array (episode)

In the opening scene of this episode, none other than Lando Calrissian is playing Sabacc against Zeb (one of the Ghost crewmembers). They are using credits for betting similar to the ones I have recreated here. In that fateful hand, Lando has the "Idiot's Array" which beats Zeb's "Sabacc" and Lando wins the crew's droid "Chopper".

The first photo is my recreation of the scene from the show using my credits.

To make them more useful for betting in Sabacc, I added a copper & silver version with denominations (1,5,10) on them (2nd photo).
These are 3d printed with internal steel weights to give them some heft, making them feel more realistic without making them too heavy. Each denomination has a unique barcode.
