Star Wars Andor (Disney+ TV series)

Another fantastic episode. Gutted there's only one left this season, it genuinely gets better and better.

Anyone else notice the other helmet inside Luthen's shop behind the gallery is actually a variant of one of the Boba Fett concepts? Thought this was extremely cool. I'd love to build these 'kabuto' variants of the Starkiller and Boba Fett helmets some day, they look incredible.

Oh I thought he was referring to the chaff/missles/or whatever they were.
That was my understanding too, it sure sounded like he was stalling until his countermeasures were fully charged. Which is odd, but maybe they're not simply passive countermeasures like chaff but something more active that's something of a cross between chaff and active defense systems being mounted on tanks. They're chaff like in that they draw missiles fo them and once the missile has been successfully lured they then explode to then destroy the missile.

About the countermeasures/chaff he released, he was waiting on the tractor beam to increase intensity. It was at a 2, so he feigned an overheated engine to stall. Then he engaged all engines to seem like he was running, which caused them to increase the tractor beam to an intensity of 5. At that point, he ejected the chaff & it flew back at a greater velocity to take out the dish.

As for the beam weapons on Luthen's ship, I personally believe they were more for taking out escort ships or even disabling a grappling claw that would be trying to bring him in. It would knock out whatever was near him without having to fire in 2 directions at once & since it wasn't an obvious, visible weapon, take the targets by complete surprise.

My theory is he needed scrap so he was cramming some antique dresser into the thresher.

I'll be the one not on board with Luthens magic ship of laser cannons, countermeasures and laser sword wing tips. The latter jumps the shark. Seems now his ship is the lead singer that plays keyboard and does the guitar solo all on the same song live. Needs more cowbell.

This series has not dropped a beat for me. I have no idea how they will tie up all the running story lines that are flowing at the moment in one episode but that just builds the anticipation. I have to go back to the latter seasons of The X Files to match how much I'm looking forward to this finale. The Luthens escape sequence was brilliant. I would expect nothing less from a man in his position with the means available to him.

We all assume that Luthen's ship is his own...are we sure? Isn't this guy a serious collector and it could be possible that he bought the ship from someone, somewhere in the Galaxy?
Or stole it under the nose of the previous owner?
Exchanged something else for the ship?
I mean, the permutations are numerous; but, in the end, the question remains: is it his ship?

Good point. With the example of the different disguises for specific interactions it also make sense that through his dealings he has “acquired” some unique tools to accomplish his means. He doesn’t need The Force to be using advanced, albeit previously unseen tech.

Given how comfortable he is with using it, the built-in droid that seems to Luthen fairly well and let him use the ship, plus the secret disguise compartment in the back strongly seems to suggest that it's his.
