Star Wars Andor (Disney+ TV series)

It was all so tense too. I was gripped. Goes to show that Cassian knows when a town is 'about to blow'.

There were some great shots in this episode. Stormtroopers standing guard over the hotel, B2 trundling sadly behind Brazzo, Bix looking out the window and so on. I think the best one was Cassian framed in the doorway of the ship. Goes to show that if you let the camera linger then it can convey so much more.

I thought that the contrast between Princess Leia being rescued by Luke and how Bix was in a real state when Cassian turned up and didn't want to leave was really interesting - it seemed more realistic and visceral that someone would be so broken by Imperial torture. That said, I would have liked Dedra to have experienced a bit more pure terror during her run in with the mob though - give her a little taste of her own medicine.

I liked how Mon Mothma made up the return of a gambling problem for the benefit of her driver to overhear.

I think the post-credits scene was a little unnecessary and will detract from future viewings of the prison arc. I liked not knowing.

I noticed Cassian's now telling people to climb too!

Totally satisfying series! The end credit scene was the icing on the cake! Now to watch the whole thing again, even tough I’ve done multiple views of each episode. Seeing as how this was announced as in production in 2019, I really hope season two comes out next year!

I hope Iger makes Filoni watch this series before he makes any more Star Wars.

To any fellow RPF members here who worked on Andor, thanks for the phenomenal job at bringing all this to life and making every Wednesday morning so enjoyable for the past couple months. I'm completely blown away. This show is an unexpected treasure.

While I understand why some believe this show "isn't Star Wars", I completely disagree with this. For me, there is nothing more Star Wars than a story of an underdog rebellion rising up against soulless fascism, and Andor captured this story in such an unexpectedly realistic way using extremely well done characters set against a backdrop obviously inspired by a mix of Soviet KGB, colonialism, Nazis, and major revolutions.

Add this to a gorgeous production design that beautifully portrayed the tiniest details and aesthetics of the Star Wars universe. I thought it wonderfully brought to life the Star Wars universe of the 70s, which is a collection of 70s era tech, junk, and styles mixed with the 70s era perception of what future tech and styles would be (like, TV box sets and holograms). This is exactly the look and feel of Star Wars.

Loved every minute of this show. And the bell guy is a hero.

End credits were not really much of a surprise but still a cool tie in

I was thinking they reminded me of those Lego K 'nex spoke pieces and I figured hey would be for a large structure like that. Was just not sure if they would ever actually reveal it or just leave up to speculation

They just started production two days ago so we most likely wont see Season 2 until 2024.

That funeral procession was the absolute best I’ve ever seen. I wouldn’t mind being a brick.

You know….later….
There is a company that will put your ashes in the root ball of a sapling tree so you can be planted and grow together with the tree as one. I’ve already told my wife and kids this is what I want when I pass away. The thought of being useful again, and maybe eventually being someone’s favorite tree when the tree is grown out, is exciting and awesome to me.

And getting peed on by a dog…

I was emotionally drained with the finale. A lot of it snuck up in ways I didn't expect.
I didn't expect them to get deeper into Ferix culture. In any other production Ferix culture wouldn't get more than a two line treatment in the script, and yet it ends up feeling more real than most major worlds described in the movies.
Brasso is an awesome buddy. Love that guy.
Val is tragically not on the same page as Cinta in their relationship. The actor who plays Val has amazing facial expressions. I think of the look she had on Aldhani when she was trying to gather the nerve to start the heist, and the look she has here when she saw Cinta.

Maarva's holographic speech was just what it had to be. It didn't need to be the definitive knockout call to arms since it is coming so soon after Kino's speech. But it was just enough.

I didn't expect to be so smitten by Cassian coming to rescue Bix. How it framed their relationship is just beautiful. It's better than a love story.

I LOL'ed when Brasso smacked the imperial with his Maarva brick. I'm sure that's exactly how she'd want it, too.
Please don't have Dedra hook up with Cyril. That would just weaken her character.

Post credit - I guess they couldn't resist having to make connections just once. I would have preferred not to know, but I can live with this one.

I'd want to be a pecan tree so everyone can eat my nuts.

(I can't take credit for that one. Mods please don't ban me.)
