Star Wars Andor (Disney+ TV series)

Great episode. Loved Andy Serkis in this. Awesome use of the prison floor, very original.

I found it strange that the prison only had humans in it initially however after thinking about it for a second perhaps the Empire has the jail sectioned off by species or has different types of prison/labor camps for different species? We know that Wookies were used as hard laborers on Kessel.
Not only were they segregating by species, but by culture as well. That's why they were making the prisoners confirm their homeworld before they were put on transports.

Maybe they only trusted humans with whatever they're building. ;) ;) It all depends on whether they are going to ignore the EU thing about the Empire being extremely racist towards aliens.
That's not just an EU thing. That was a key part of why the Separatists split from the Republic in the prequels.

That’s part of military genius. Put individuals of similar circumstance together so that they’ll commiserate with each other and work together. Put Wookiees in there with them and the Humans would be dominated, therefore nothing gets done.

Don't be surprised more people are not watching. A series based and named on a minor character the casual viewer does not recognize. Fans being burned on prior terrible films and horrible tv series. Then a gem sneaks in surprising even those that are stone faced done with Disney star wars. With the series name, I'd rather they just name a series as a series and not a characters name. Andor is more a minor character with more time following half a dozen other characters connected by the character of andor one way or another. Just name a series as a series.

My nitpick for the andor series, when it's earth based things its way too earth based, clothes, dialog, set pieces...
And everyone is a little too overly dramatic both visually and verbally as if stomach ulcers are handed out on a daily basis. A tad too much jaw biting and frowning.

This series just gets better and better. This is Star Wars made by intelligent people.
Can’t believe more people aren’t excited about it.
They will the moment Baby Yoda makes his appearance.
Oooops

I can't understand your "Too much Earth based, clothes, dialog, set pieces..." point of view:unsure: As for me; the suspend of disbelief is there, every week; sure, the costumes have been "critiqued" (the Hoodie Guy:rolleyes:) or the brick cladded buildings...but, in this SW Universe, anything is possible and it doesn't remove the fact that it's well written and acted. It's the STORY! ;)

Especially considering most clothes are earth based in the SW universe. SW didn't invent a new riding boot, robes, or mandarin collars.

Right.

Boba Fett was “in universe”

Obi Wan was “in universe”

How were their stories?

ANH and ESB were more about humans with the alien races being mostly peripheral.
This was Star Wars for many years for many of us. Andor is like that.

ROTJ was when Star Wars started to get infested with muppets. And the prequels is when CG freakshow started to eat up the live action.

I did say it's a nit pick not a complaint although two separate groups of friends, hardcore fans and casual viewers, all pointed out the exact same things being hoodies, ak47s and the too earth based dialog and set pieces. It is what it is.

back in the day George said as outlandish as these visuals were he wanted them to feel somewhat familiar so people could relate. same flavor here. seems the brits are showing the california types how it's done....
