Star Wars Ahsoka (tv series)

Speaking of insignias: I haven't dived into a careful comparison, but they seem bigger to me than the ones seen in ESB. Mind you, this is years later and it's plausible they changed the standard in-universe.

Speaking of rank insignia, one thing that I can't unsee whenever I see Herra is her rank insignia, whenever I see it I immediately think of the Purina logo.

There was a town about 20 minutes away when I was growing up that was almost completely supported by a Purina plant. There were logos all over the town, but it was always a nostalgic thing when I saw the logo growing up.

I immediately recognized it when I saw it in ALIEN & figured it was just a coincidence. When I got older, I read an interview with the production designer & he said it was very deliberate as they considered the crew 'Alien Chow'.

LOL

It's very possible and not that difficult to do. Lighting is part of 3D animation 101 and the larger effects houses have an entire light team that do nothing but set up the lighting in 3D scene to match the lighting of any live action or real locations used. In the 3D environment they can set the placement and the direction the lights are facing, the kinds of light, color temp, brightness, etc. I wouldn't be surprised if they have presets for specific makes and models of lights

The only tricky thing might be the reflections, but they can probably map the live action footage to the 3D model. The only real limitation is time and money, the tools are there and so are the capabilities.
If 3Po was indeed CGI in a mo-cap suit here, I suspect it probably had a lot more to do with “The Volume” screens causing ***** lighting reflections that they didn’t really know how to deal with, and so this was their ‘easy’ solution

my guess is that Baylan will get offed in the last episode. another baddie character that isnt what they made him to be earlier in the show. hes been awful nostalgic about the Jedi and his upbringing. hes bitter against them, but hes been softening about everything.

Me too. Plus, whenever I see rank insignia in Star Wars, I think of blister-packed medicines. I keep waiting for the day when an Imperial officer starts coughing and pops out a lozenge...

Or just recast and not mention it. Everyone knows that the actor died, no need for an in universe explanation.
If there is one trend that I have absolutely come to DESPISE in modern film/story-telling, its the deliberate and pretentious killing-off of a character specifically because of the death of their actor…

I don’t think you will find one single example where doing so has actually benefited the end product or story…

Spartacus did it right

This thankfully, though still sadly due to the IP’s they own, seems to mainly be a Disney studios thing… usually done under the shallow, surface- level guise of “respect” or “to honor” the late actor/actress, but in the end is almost always shown to be more of a financially driven decision

Wakanda Forever!

The entire movie was forced!

I was not a fan of recasting T’Challa, but what they did fell way short…

My guess is that Baylan will be left stranded on the Peridea, and without opposition from Thrawn or the Nightsisters he makes himself the planet's ruler.

(Or at least, that is what I'd want to see)
Edit: The series has hinted that he was seeking a "higher purpose" for himself and him bringing law and order to a lawless planet might just be that.

Honestly, I would be all for that type of ending for his character, even if they never revisited his story line ever again. That is one opportunity that I think a different media source could take over his story though, and be successful (comic, novel, etc).

I think we are going to end on a cliffhanger for everyone tonight. Thrawn tries to leave the galaxy with his forces, and the good guys will stop him…And they’ll all seemingly be stuck.

Maybe they will end up recasting Baylan Skoll if the storyline went into season 2 and there is no way around it.

Antony Starr is the fan favorite casting right now, and if they have to do it-I have to agree, not a bad choice. He would have to get Ray Stevenson's manerisims down, some make up prostetics to make him look older but doable.

The voice is another thing altogether...
