I’ll never judge anyone by their weight or lift style, I’m serious when I said I like how he looks heavier in the suit. Gives him age..

Love the weathered suit too.. and how connected he is with the great mothers..

I thought for sure Baylan was going to be his right hand man.. looks like the great mothers have filled the c’boath role

I'm thinking the extra weight is to show some sort of arc for Thrawn, because this is Mikkelson just a few months ago at SW CELEBRATION, several weeks AFTER they'd filmed AHSOKA.

Also, we should consider that they have been stranded there for years and not much to do. There could be many explanations on his appearance but does it matter? not to me.

I honestly do think a more “military” posture would go a long way and in that particular shot with his arms hiding his back profile, I think that also exaggerates things. Of course Thrawn is a bit older now too so maybe they were willing to intentionally give him more leeway in his physical appearance.

The problem is that he's Thrawn. He would not let himself get heavier...it really doesn't fit his character at all. Old age doesn't always mean heavy, slow and cynical especially for someone like Thrawn. It can be looked past as everything else seems to be very much on target with him and it may serve a purpose.

Also maybe it was just me, but when they were flying to the spot with the night witches it felt like I was watching the landing scene in Prometheus. Like someone thought that was a cool scene and just subbed in Star Wars stuff into it

I figured the storm troopers were just fixing their armor as they could with what they had available to do it.

I figured they may be either Nightsister relics or Nightsister corpses that they plan to reanimate back in the Star Wars galaxy. I could see the agreement being “We will use our magic to help you gain power, and you help us re-establish our order back on Dathomir and grant us protection once you rule”. Which especially makes sense if there is something powerful in this galaxy that prevents them from flourishing. Baylan mentioned they are fleeing a power greater than their own.

I'm sure someone probably made this connection but the Great Mothers voices remind me of the Bene Gesserit "voice" in Dune.

Yeah they had weird voices in Clone Wars too, very creepy.

I'm pretty sure Enoch is a droid, he's the only one that talks and its very mechanized, and would go along with all of the troops not actually being alive.

I think is is mostly the director forgot to tell Mikkelsen to mind his posture. I think that Mikkelsen was otherwise playing Thrawn like he used to in the recording booth.

Yes, I was surprised how short he looks next to Lars, but then I saw that Lars is 192cm

Well... knowing what happened to Thrawn in the original book series from the 90's, I think ANYONE that Thrawn trusts & is close with him COULD be important in the future.
