Star Wars Ahsoka (tv series)

I love the Heir of the Empire books. I'm actually waiting to see how bad they screw it up, lol. I hate to be so negative, because there is always a small glimmer of hope, that they might get something right. I've been burned so many times with book to TV or Movies. It's hard to hold on to that slippery sliver of belief. The Mouse is evil, in a way that's hard to describe. They have destroyed just about every property that they've touched. I mean they can't effect the original properties that we know and love from the past, but they can cast a pall over them. It's like when you love a certain food, and then you get sick eating it. It can turn you off on that food, sometimes for a short time , sometimes for life. I couldn't eat crab for a few decades because of an experience I had. I won't describe it, because I don't want to gross anyone out. Hopefully they will put enough goodness regarding Thrawn to make it interesting. From the pictures I've seen of him, I'm already disappointed. That is just me projecting what I think he would look like. Hard to make a blue guy look realistic, ; ) I had the same thing with the Hulk movies. Have to suspend a lot of disbelief. I guess if I can believe in a 3 foot green guy, with honkin ears, I can deal with this, lol.

I am unhappy to learn Thrawn will be played by the same actor from Rebels. I did not like his performance. He was trying to hard. Way too slimy and buttery. My feeling is Thrawn had a solid, matter-of-fact and crisp voice.

This certainly seems pretty cut and dry, no midiclorians=no one knows the Force even exists

Without gut bacteria we could not digest food properly. The specifics of gut bacteria can influence our body and mental functions.

And yet gut bacteria is not what we are eating. It's not the materials that are bodies are made out of. It's just a bunch of microorganisms that are involved in our bodies' processes.

The danger of Thrawn is multiple: First, he is beyond brilliant. Think Sherlock Holmes running the Imperial fleet. In the novels he was always multiple steps ahead of the Republic and setting traps for them. Just pure genius.

Secondly, Thrawn is a true believer in creating order, and is highly ambitious. He worked his way to the top quickly and efficiently, and is one of the few capable of actually uniting all the Imperial remnants.

Finally, he's the last remaining Imperial Grand Admiral. Not sure if that counts for something, but I believe the rest had all been eliminated.

In a time where many of the Rebels' victories were due to Imperial stupidity ("Evacuate? In our moment of triumph?"), there is no way to prepare for someone like Thrawn coming on the scene.

Thrawn was a military & tactical genius. The best the Empire ever had, but because of the Emperor's xenophobia, he maybe never got as far as he should've, although Grand Admiral was pretty good.

He was never shown as being evil, unlike a lot of imperials. He's just extremely good at his job. He also placed a great value on life, & never wanted to destroy indiscriminately. Probably his greatest trait was that whereas the other leaders looked at various cultures as lesser than, Thrawn studied them, mainly the culture's art, to gauge their strengths & weaknesses.

Lastly, Thrawn was never sold out on the Imperial agenda, but was instead more interested in cultivating a relationship that he could use to help his people, the Chiss, out in the Unknown Regions.
Extremely well said

Then again, this has NOTHING to do with the EU.

This is the FU, Filoni Universe.

And here I am thinking the Disney Star Wars was Kathleen Kennedy‘s FU to fans.

In all seriousness, I enjoyed the first two episodes. I liked Rebels and all the nods to the pre-production material in it, so I was excited to see the Rebels crew come back.

I’ve now officially switched to Team Empire.

I hope that they win and the lot of mismanaged, dumb and utterly lucky Rebels get wiped out!

Except for Luke, of course. He has been and always shall be… The Bomb!

I agree, but these are no longer the rebels that recognized tyranny & stood against it. These are now peacetime 'leaders' with their heads in the sand.

You really get the idea that the New Republic leadership is made up of either those who want to proclaim peace above all, & those who've forgotten how the Empire actually came to be.

To refuse to be prepared to protect those counting on you, simply because you don't want to believe there could be a threat is moronic, & expecting a threat to behave under any "fair" rules will get Innocents killed EVERY TIME.

To paraphrase Valin Hess in The Mandalorian, people think they want peace when what they really want is order.

I agree, they are acting incredibly naive. But its also hard to create a well functioning government. We see it throughout history. Winning a war can sometimes be the easy part. Setting up a well functioning system afterwards is harder and can be rocky for awhile.

I think its just leadership overwhelmed with the task of leading now and not focusing in what may seem like smaller problems to them. They have decided to set up a system of forgiveness (for better or worse) focusing on rehabilitation rather than imprisonment. There are ex empire people everywhere. Id imagine there are rising threats from disgruntled people in many places. I could understand how at some point you become numb to it if it hasnt yet panned out to anything.
