I think one thing this show is gonna have difficulty in that they didnt have to deal with in Rebels is the fact that Luke is a Jedi Master, and Han and Leia are part of the rebellion. Theyre gonna have to explain why theyre not involved in this if its so high stakes. Especially when we know Ahsoka was just recently spending time with Luke.

Great point, but during this time, you've got Luke establishing his school & Leia fighting the New Republic. There was no Big Bad in the Galaxy in this time, so Leia was trying to get them to maintain a military, just in case. Others in charge considered her a warmonger, & after it became public knowledge that Vader was her father, her enemies had a field day.

Seems to me, from the trailer, that Hera is fighting the same uphill battle to get anyone to believe there's an existing threat. We saw a bit of that in the last season of Mando.

I guess my point is they all have obligations in trying to establish something new in the Galaxy. I'm sure Luke would be aware of what Ahsoka had going on, but the established Jedi Order would usually send only 1 or 2 Jedi to handle entire planetary disputes, so maybe Luke felt the same way. IDK

I just wouldnt be surprised if they address that up front somehow, so its not in the abck of your head the whole series. And come to think of it, this would be a good time to show us how Ahsoka and Luke met.

If it wasn't Filoni running & writing this entire show, I'd probably be more wary myself, but REBELS, & most of these characters are his babies, so since he's calling this REBELS season 5, I think we liked that, we'll like this.

Oh, jeez. I kinda want to be excited. But anything attached to TCW is just meh now. And Dave is showing himself to be kinda a one trick pony. His schtick these days is remixing, watering down, and bastardizing EU content. And then shoving Ahsoka into every single thing. Then slathering everything in easter eggs. I think I'll stick with the original Heir to the Empire.

Luke in the Disney stuff is a useless a-hole who doesn't care about anyone else. I doubt even at this point he would lift a finger to go help anyone. If he wouldn't help his family, he's not going to go help Ahsoka.

I'm don't hate Filoni but I do think he's pretty overrated...but with that said he's currently among the best LFL has to offer and this looks interesting, at the least. I still need to go back and finish Rebels. I wasn't a huge fan of it but I guess it's time to finally finish it off before this show comes out.

I loved seeing the E-wing. Looks like they did away with the third cannon on top that would've interfered with the canopy opening! Lol! I wonder if the Kenner astromech could be the genesis for the BB units. As I recall, EU E-wings either didn't require astromechs or required some specialized version. I don't recall now.

Seeing "young" Mon Mothma, post-ROTJ is pretty weird. They didn't even bother to change her hair. From the first trailer, I had assumed this might've been an old recording but nope, her appearances looks to be contemporary to the show. I generally prefer deepfakes to recasting although I am probably in the minority.

That said, I'd be surprised if we don't get a deepfaked Big Three cameo before all is said in done (either in this show or in Filoni's movie).

The E-wing looks like it has a longer sleeker canopy. And blunt chisel like nose. Reminds me of some of the fan re-designs.

And the cannon barrel just hinges up with the canopy.

And yes the E-wing used a specialized astromech. An R7.

Though Wookieepedia states that later models could use other kinds of astromechs.
