Limited Run Star Trek - Strange New Worlds - Leather Away Jacket!

New around here but I like this project and I thought I'd add that you can find some super-high resolution photos of the delta pattern on the Paramount site.

For example: https://ca.startrek.com/sites/default/files/images/2022-05/snw_103_mg_006275_rt.jpg is 23MP and zooming in you can easily see the metallic silver ink and the orientation of the pattern.

Seems like you've already figured most of this out, though :)
The inside of the sleeve definitely looks like the same leather as the outside. Not fabric as is on the replica. Look closely Jameel Ur

Hey,
The inside sleeve isn't leather.
It's matching/ or slightly darker fabric.

If you're talking about the photo posted at the start of the thread it isn't a replica, it's the actual prop which was displayed at a show in Chicago. I'm pretty sure it's the same poly knit fabric that the delta pattern is printed on.

There is a video with many shots that show the inside sleeve fabric.

If it was leather, then it would wrinkle like leather, and it doesn't do that in any of the photos that show it. Here's another shot from episode 3 where you can see the sleeve leather is very wrinkled, but the fabric parts stay smooth.

Nice! I will say I think the delta pattern does not look quite right, it might be a little too big. Counting the number of deltas along the various parts of the jacket I think it might need to be 15-20% smaller.

Also, where did you source the delta image used for printing? If it's the pattern from this post I'm not sure it's quite right? I was trying to match it up with official source images like this one and it doesn't quite match up.

And of course the ink is pretty far off.

Thanks for detailed message,
I haven't seen any solid proof about delta pricint dessing. Althoug I mentioned the original logo but that doesn't work becasue this is puff pritins.

I asked about metalic ink but someone tole me it isn't metalic printing but, in my opinion it should be metalic printing that glow in dark.
I agree delta size slightly bigger than orignal, as I complete my fisrt jacket I'll change the detal size and printing ink.

Thanks

Yep for sure. In case anyone else has any doubt, in this instagram post the costume designer calls it "gunmetal" and as you can see in other posts on her instagram it seems they used metallic silicone inks for ALL of the uniforms, in this post uhura's red uniform is specifically called a "metallic red delta microprint". It also looks to me like they probably used the same ink for their version of the wrath of khan jacket, in this video you can see how reflective it is.

As an extra bit of info, in this interview she describes the fabric as "...a polytech knit fabric that is bonded with microfleece. This helps the fabric have a bit of body and look smooth on camera."

Yes you're right. It's anyways very very difficult to replicate the exact print without their image assets... but with the correct smaller size I'm sure it still looks great even if the image is slightly different. :)

Thank you Suncos, These are such great info for me to devlope screen accurate field jacket.
I'm going to complete my first jacket, and then, I'll redo my jacket from all aspects, and willing to make new jacket with as close as possible.

Thank you agin Suncos.

Yep definitely gunmetal metallic print.

As far as I understand, your shirt logo size are 5 mm by 5mm.
And my Delta logo size is 11mm.
Delta pattren are going vertical, so it looks longer than Plus sign(logo).
We just done our first sample, But, I'll keep working on it to make better.

Thanks.
