Deprecated Star Lord accurate jacket valves (zippers/badges are gone)

Re: Star Lord jacket zipper & Details (greeblies)

"Oh... yeah."
zipper.jpg

FedEx just popped by with a bundle of metal and fabric. This is the most heavy-duty zipper I've ever seen.

Re: Star Lord jacket zipper & Details (greeblies)

Everything looks great! Add the badge to my order. $ in hand. Let me know when and where to send payment.

Re: Star Lord jacket zipper & Details (greeblies)

Just a heads-up that I will be collecting payment shortly and sending out a PM to everyone on the list.

Re: Star Lord jacket zipper & Details (greeblies)

take me off the list. As much as I want one I just can't justify the spending right now.

Re: Star Lord jacket zipper & Details (greeblies)

Already have me down for one zipper (thanks!) I'd be down for a valve as well too please!

Re: Star Lord jacket zipper & Details (greeblies)

Found this picture that was posted over in a thread in the Marvel forum

Looking at the linked photo you wouldn't think so but the glass in this case is obscuring the detail. I have a high-resolution reference (not mine, so I can't share it) that shows there is something in the recessed area. It's either higher or lower, ever-so-subtle but in my view looks too "perfect" to have been masked off or drawn by hand. I'm currently leaning towards it being lower because it looks more like an inner shadow, so that's the way I'm going with it.

Re: Star Lord jacket zipper & Details (greeblies)

Just looking at that picture, I would say it's raised. There's silver drybrushing highlighting nearly all of the sharp edges on the entire badge, so I see no reason to paint a silver circle over the top unless there's already something raised to highlight.

We're not talking about the silver drybrushed parts of the circle (which are raised as was established a while back) but the recessed areas. You can't see the lower areas at all in that photo.

Re: Star Lord jacket zipper & Details (greeblies)

Ready to go with payment for the pieces whenever then, should we expect a PM or just check back here for how to pay? (going to be less available online with the long weekend coming up, so want to make sure I don't miss it)

EDIT: Never mind, I see you already answered that on the last page. And for some reason I can't figure out how to delete this post. Ignore this!

Bah! My apologies. I completely misunderstood what was being discussed.

Re: Star Lord jacket zipper & Details (greeblies)

Payment details have now been sent out. I know it's labor day weekend and as such, folks may take longer to respond but I ask that everyone that hasn't paid please do so asap as I've invested a lot in this run.

If anyone else wants in, just say so because I still have room.

Re: Star Lord jacket zipper & Details (greeblies)

Small update. I invested in silicone and urethane and am attempting to cast up rubber badges. It's a tad hard because the details are so thin in places and I've burnt through a couple molds already, but I think I'm getting there. The rubber badges will be limited as I only bought a small supply of materials, enough to cover those that have signed up and a few more, since they are expensive here (especially the urethane rubber.. YIKES).

Re: Star Lord jacket zipper,Badge/Patch, Valve...

I have a whole mess of badges, a few zippers and valves almost ready to go. (Note: the rubber urethane badges will be limited. I managed to get them very accurate but my supply of rubber is out and the molds are almost shot.)
