Stay strong, you are almost there.......almost!!!

Finally found the energy to get back to these dang things. Leg Four pretty much done, and began to cut for leg five.
Has been such a drainer TBH, Holidays were a no no with ANY form of building due to people so rudely visiting....what is this Christmas nonsense anyway :lol.

Reckon another few weeks, i can get ALL of these fully wrapped up, and off to my client, then, thats the end of it, NO MORE Probe droid arms for this lad, ive got so much i want to do from here.

You deserve to retire from 'em - too gorgeous, and sooo much work. You can just tell, lol.

And merry Christmas to you too lee!!
Those are mighty fine legs you got there mate!!
So are you doing a run of 10 sets??
Lol
Mars

Thanks Jason/ Steve :). Just that small last leg (four) consists of around 30 parts, sans the donors, so yeah, time consuming.

Mars, run of ten eh? I suddenly feel very ill indeed :lol.

Youv'e got the patience of a saint mate, those legs look terribly complex, your client is a lucky fella.

Thanks Stu, its mainly the joint fabrication that hurts you. This set uses a dowel to hold the three joint rings, instead of a pinch bolt, which is overkill IMO anyway.
Using the dowel method, you have to trim/grind just enough meat off the inside of your ABS ring, to give the right tension over the inner dowel.
Then, keep in mind, those rings want to bind when they run together when assembled, so yeah, the joints are tedious.
Its cool when you nail a couple, and your able to just jump into building a full arm.
If i had a bag of 200 centre drilled plexi discs i could just bolt together and make joints, i could build these arm sets all day long......then again :lol.

Id create a WTB thread TBH. They are pretty rare anyhow, and have been OOP for around 5 yrs or so?
It wont be cheap if you find one, nor will it be very nice either out the packet, the casting on these things was sh*te, but you can make it shine with some elbow grease!

Well worth the wait!!!
i can stress enough how grateful I am for these mate!!
and Simon , are you bringing these down?? lol
mars

Simon ill see how Mars feels about that buddy lol. Thanks guys, its been a task and a half this time, so much else going on in life i guess, its been tricky having a complicated job like this on right now, but ive managed to pull through.

Mars, dont worry bud, as you wanna go, arm to arm, ill go through the donors with you, have you bought most of the kits as yet?

James, i hear you on the funds front, im pretty much done now, ive got all my projects for the next few years now, so im relaxing funds into this hobby for a while now, barring the odd donor here and there lol......dont think ill ever stop buying those lol.
