GREEN HORNET "Sting" Gas Gun: A Build Log

One can plan and plan and plan, but it's not till you try to fit real parts together that the need for adjustments becomes evident:

Round #1:

Made some adjustments. Round #2:

All parts still need a millimeter here or there; it's like putting together a puzzle, but it's nice to have finished canisters that set a baseline for everything else!

The two on the right do look a bit tight. Are the vertical canisters aligned or is the far right vertical one just a bit higher than the others?

Exactly, that's the problem; some hose needs to fit in there. So I'm making more room by cutting into the rail a little more and by slimming up the insides of the canister caps. That will be Round #4.

Okay, Round #4: Everything is much, much closer to where it needs to be!

I believe the rail and canister caps are now FINAL.

The top hose and rear bracket still need some minor tweaks. And there is a front hose that I will do very last.

Getting closer!

Round #5: Soooo close!

All parts are final except for the top hose, which needs some spacing work still.

(The brass caps are missing because they're being painted. They'll fit.)

Primed and black gloss for some of the parts:

Also, the mag bracket has been glued on with E6000.

Round #6: I think we just about have a winner!

Just one or two minor internal adjustments for magnets and one last print, and the top hose is final!

Again, the front hose will happen after everything else is done, but we're almost there. :)

Great job Bill. Top hose looks great. Canisters/brackets/hoses all look well spaced and not cramped (at least to my eyes) and you managed to make all five 2.5” canisters work (or is it 2.25”? I forget). Excited to see it painted.

Top hose with magnets installed, ready to be painted:

New caps glued onto the canisters, this time with thinner top walls and NO magnets. The magnets in the canisters will do the work.

Gun hardware glued on with E6000 and damaged a little (some intentional, some not).

Additional weathering (consisting mostly of flat black corners, silver chipped paint, and some silver drybrushing) will be done at the end.

Looking good! I like the gunmetal color - it goes well with the pistol.
Yeah it does. Great job Bill. Always knew the gunmetal was going to look good and this looks very real and fits well. Still looking forward to see what the copper ends up looking like :)
