Awesome work... I am so envious of marsattack for getting into Lee's one-man-queue before I could, lol. I think this will be one of my first projects when I get my laser cutter later this Summer! Looks like the repeatable shapes will be a no-brainer for laserin'
Legs look great, just happen to have a pile of kits sitting here for them, soon to be sent to mars. Jason , keep me in mind if you decide to make some exra legs, i also have a pile o kits for one of these PD's.
Cheers guys, means a lot, wish i could hack another set J, just cant face it right now lol.
As for laser cutting, wont really get you far, at least not very accurate, as they have to be built from hollow rectangular tubing guys, laser cutting solid shapes would look a bit odd.

Also the the Plastruct tubing isn't uniform so could be a be-atch? Laser cutting the knuckle joins may be a time saver if you can get the leg parts square at the edges? Thinking about it cutting the the ABS round tube may be a lot easier also.

TBH, i need to get my wedding out the way this summer, and go from there, this hobby is full of never say nevers, so dont write me off J, just for the forseeable, im spent lol, no matter what, its been fun, and i think it was more a case of taking these on, so soon after all the hard work on my own droid.

Seriously though... in case I haven't already said so before, great work on the legs. They look fantastic!
I think you did wonders mate, knocking out another set of legs for your client. It's no fun for sure putting in the hard yards if it takes you away from other projects your'e wanting to do, but that's what commissions are all about I guess, paid work always comes first.
After around the 40 or so Tie Bomber sets we pumped out, I just really don't want to go there again, just too damn monotonous for words.
Anyhoo, stunning legs bro, they are one heck of an achievement.

We are actually contracting with lee a guy to take these to Australia with one of those hand cuff attaché , in case any of you get any funny ideas.

Guy, without going too much into this and Lees thread, I was originally going to vac form the 3 probe domes out of 3-4mm styrene, but been speaking about just CNCing them straight out of a material molds are made off , I am unsure of the name , but will have something to show this coming week.
I went this way as it seems very hard to get a true "dome" simply by casting.
