SS models you would like to see.

Since another thread was going off topic.
I thought there should be a new one. So Kuhn(and everybody else) can get it out of their respective systems.
(Yea, as if that could happen. :lol :lol :lol Honey, how many more models are going to get? Just one more Dear.)

Lets go...

Kewl...thanks for starting this thread Atemylunch.

LOLOL...yes...only one model this month dear.... :love

Barry,.. so MR may be doing a 3 foot SD? :confused I know you aren't able to answer completely, but that specific piece would be nice to know about soon so as not to double my efforts. :p Plus it would give folks enough time to save the $$$ to get one as I imagine it wouldn't be cheap if it is done correctly.

Are you able to elaborate on MR's Battlestar plans? New, old, or both? :confused

Speaking of the Rebel Blockade Runner,... what scale would be appropriate if MR were to do it? Anyone do a build review of Cooper's yet?

Cloud City?.... AWESOME IDEA. Again,... what scale would be appropriate?

Bob's Sandcrawler suggestion is awesome too.

I am committed to having Eblan build a 51" SSD possibly starting this January, but would absolutely love to see that beastie offered as well.

Barry is right,.. so much to do,.. so little time. :p

I have no idea what the scale would be on the Cloud City or the Blockade Runner. BIG.. Maybe someone can shed some light on how big they would be.

Your welcome Kuhn,

SSD Executor
Rebel Blockade Runner
Cloud City
Galactica (hope it's the TOS)

All in the same scale? :lol :lol :lol

Mine would be;
Klingon D7
Bird of Prey(TOS)
Starfighter(BR)
Enterprises B-E in 350 scale.
Nell(from BBTS, aka Johnboy in space)
Tie Defender(from the old Tie Fighter game)
UFO intercepter(UFO)
Hawk(Space 1999, Why hasn't PE done one?)
This is only a partial list.

I know some are out there.

Boy, I think I need to make more money.

TOS Galileo Shuttlecraft.
But accurate to the full size mock up details and not the miniatures.
I know there are scaling issues between the interior and exteriors used on the show, but an accurate interior would be cool too.

How about a studio scale Negvar?

neg2.jpg

neg3.jpg

neg.jpg

SS Sandcrawler
SS AT ST (the big one)
The Endor's base (with the large radar dish . And the platform, maybe in scale with a SS AT AT and with a Lambda Shuttle :D)

WOW...kewl lists. From everyone.

And.... Barry confirmed that MR is doing BOTH New and Old Galactica... :D Sweeeeeeeeeeet.

A 1/350 1701E would be about 11 feet long. LOL. THAT'S HUGE... This is why Richard did the Nemesis version in 1/650 scale.

Just as an FYI,... on Richard's commission list for the collection are the Reliant, Excelsior and the 1701B in 1/350 and then 1701C and D in 1/650 as well... Then there are 1/650 Akira and Nebula Class also planned for the collection, but for much, much later...unless MR beats us to them. I am highly doubting MR will be doing the majority of these as larger scale collectibles, (being that they are HUGE), but it would be neat to see them do so and probably better on the ol' pocket book. LOL. I would think the any of the above stated ships could successfully be done in 1/1000 scale by MR though.

Richard... the NegVar would be a real beastie. What scale is that SS model? Good "Future Intent" Commission.

There is much coming up folks and I agree....

... :cry We definitely need to make more dough for the stuff that's coming out of the oven. :p

I ran some numbers on the 350 scale ships and...

Assuming rounded ft. from meters = 1/350
1701(TOS) 947'=32.46"
1701-A 1000'=34.29"
1701-B 1531'=52.49"
1701-C 1725'=59.14"
1701-D 2102'=72.06"
1701-E 2230'=76.46"

I stand @ 72" (6'3")tall.

I know these would be big models.
Even the E is a managable size.

Keeping in mind there are models out there 66" long.

Food for thought.

Ill be maybe working on my cooper RBR after the build i have on at the moment Kurt, ill keep you posted if you like. It does look a nice kit and the casting is nice too, itll make a very nice display model as at the size the accuracy is wonderful and Randy really "saw" the ship.

Oh ok for the record, love to see a crawler in SS and oddly enough, a speeder bike, i think it would look very nice in studio scale, ATST would be nice, but hell so would a Lambda, how much time we got lol?

Kewl Lee. I can't wait to see the BR... JV just placed a post of his paint-up intent in General Modeling. It would be nice to see a build-up thread on that as well. So everyone can see and here of the greatnes and/or problems they would run into.

I know of someone having plans for an accurate SS ATST, but don't know how private that info is as of yet so you'll have to wait for the source reveal.

Speeder bike would be interesting...

As stated in another thread,..the Lamda is also in the works by another for the future...

I am soooooo down with having a SS Sandcrawler. I have already begun talking about it's creation. It is on my "future intent" list in my commissions thread.

:D

I love Star Wars & Star Trek, but how about some other subjects?..... how about an MR Spinner from Blade Runner, fully lit.. How about the Proteus from Fantastic Voyage. Two of my favorites......
Would love to see Gerry Anderson stuff, too, but that's too niche for MR I'd think. It would sell like crazy in the UK & Japan, though.

I don't know about the rest of you, but I'd love to see a studio scale:

• Sulaco
• Dropship
• APC
• SSD (yeah its a monster, but its impressive as hell :D )
• Orion shuttle
• TB2

Just a couple of items on my wish list.

Dang. You're TALL... :p

Ahhh...your right... I wasn't thinking... :$ I was talking with Richard about sizes of Starships and their model scales and I got a bit confused and didn't use my brain. LOL. My thoughts seem to be jumbling together lately... :$ :p

Both the C and D's saucer sections would just be massive at that scale...wow.

I am glad you posted those numbers....great reference.

Good point. There are many I would like to see done as well.

I have a feeling most things will need to be scratch built due to popularity issues. My collection is based on Sci Fi,.. not just SW and ST,.. so I totally agree with you.

Good call.

Nice initials KK...they look familiar somehow... lol. :p

Other subjects... They are not finished with Wars and Trek yet..

I agree of course.

I think a Bladerunner Spinner would sell well, especially with lights.

And a George Pal Martian war machine, with lights of course.

What's mind staggering is that the possibilities of what can be done is almost limitless. When speaking to my guys,.. we start feeding off each others excitement and before ya know it the focus is lost and meyhem takes over...lol. I am sticking to my list for this stuff, but if someone takes some of the items I wish to see on,.. and does them well.... I will add their piece to that stated list...lol... It's already as long as King Kong's manhood.. LOL ;) I keep wondering if I will have anything left to retire on?. :eek

I have one. I have yet to build it. It's 36" across, a real monster.

Yea they would be massive, but they are not very tall. I see a few very good ceiling hangers. :D
Dusting would be my only complaint.
No problem on the numbers, if you guys need any more let me know.

The Orion Shuttle is in the works by Captian Cardboard, I think it's 44" long.
You should see his 11' Discovery. But at $9000+ that's way out of my range.
He does have smaller Discoverys, and a bunch of other great offerings.

I look forward to the Galactica(tos). Great to know MR is doing it. That saves all the time trying to locate all the kits that went into it.

Will the Sand Crawer be r/c. I have ideas about some SC mods.
I see it now the Kuhn Global sponsered, SC Drags. :D
Jumping Dunes for points. :lol

It's VERY doubtful anyone will put out a studio-scale Galactica (TOS). Even if it could be done (completely impractical at best), it would cost so much no one could afford it. A smaller scale model would be a HUGE seller, however, so I do hope something like that gets done (as long as whoever is doing it contacts me to work on the project -- hey, you gotta get somethin' out of all this hard work. ;) )

If MR does Galactica, I'm betting it will be a TOS Viper/Raider and TNS Viper/Raider in studio-scale and maybe some TOS helmets. Those are practical and there is already a track record of similar items selling in the garage kit market. . .

:)
