Split Second Props

For some reason I can only use the quick reply and can't quote, but the grips on current CA firearms are much larger than the old ones. I had an Undercover model and the first thing I did was to replace the grips as I could barely hold on to it with the original grips. I am including a link to a pic of the old style bulldog with the old style grips.

Here is a link to a pic of and Undercover that looks almost exactly like the one I used to have. http://mikenjudy.net/CharterArms-Undercover38.jpg You can see how small the grips actually are. The funny thing is the undercover grips would fit the bulldog and vice versa.

well if thats the case then the Bulldog is a popular prop base since Blade Runner's blaster is off a Bulldog too!

Well, it just so happens I presently own a Charter Arms undercover in 38 special. I don't think the gun matches. I took a few shots of it to compare.

Take into account I do not have massive hands. :)

You can see the placement of the release is just different than the gun used in the film, and the angle of the trigger guard is not the same, and also, the gun used in Split Second seems to have a more substantial hammer, and spur.

I threw the cap gun into this one for Dorian's earlier comment. :)

I'm pretty sure that whatever snubby they used is 6 shots, not 5, like the charter arms is, it's a tiny gun though.

The more I look at the baby cannon the more I'm thinking it may be two different reflex/dot sights. Just one turn the opposite way on the other end. What do you folks think?

Ummm, I'm almost positive that is one real-world pistol sight (of the red-dot variety). Would likely be way out of production now. I'll see what I can come up with...

I was thinking it was the Bulldog with the Undercover grips. The undercover grips do fit the bulldog and the bull dog grips do fit the undercover. The undercover frame is much smaller than the bulldog frame, however the grip area on both is the same.

Seeing this thread ........ i think a have a crosman 357 in my stash. :confused
The weapon used in the movie is the Crosman 3357 Paintball version. There is the Crosman 357 pellet version which has a different cylinder and larger barrel than the pellet version. You can convert the 357 to 3357 by changing out the cylinder and barrel.
You can see the difference here

The one i have is for sure a pellet version -> "357-6", the number 12 in that pic.

I got it from a friend a few months ago, he lost the pellet-disc/cylinder sometimes in the past. "Arn´t you building this movie gun stuff? I have a gun i don´t need any longer, you can keep and build something from it" - and as i had no idea what to use it for (it´s not very StarWarsy), i stored it away.

Thought to make a metal Vash Stampede from it, from time to time - but never found the time. This may be another option.

Ok checking on the various Astra revolvers it might be, and since I can't upload pictures for some strange reason, I'm having to grab links to existing pics.

Here is a link to an Astra .38 special note the ejector button: http://www.imfdb.org/w/images/thumb/a/a8/Astra_960_revolver.jpg/350px-Astra_960_revolver.jpg

I have this one with butchered grips which I'm trying to locate new ones for:http://www.rolly-armes.com/pistolets-revolvers_fichiers/ASTRA REVOLVER.jpg

Note the grips on this one:http://www.totseguretat.com/WebRoot...FB/04C4/20C6/8F70/0A01/00CC/7AA9/file_put.jpg

Here is a smaller snub:http://www.pegatiros.com/reportajes/armas_infanteria/astra250/Astra3.JPG

The largest issue is I don't know if Astra made a round butt grip frame. I do know that Charter Arms did.

I just dont know, it looks like the area where the trigger sits makes more of a deep sweep down to the grip. I'm sure grips can be changed but notice there is no coin or medallion on the grip. Also the trigger guard doesnt match or maybe its bent in that first picture.

I knew I shouldnt have (split) second guessed myself! Nailed it, Brass Eagle Sight! I can finally sleep!
