Spiderman web shooter: A collaborative project.

I think the code is more or less completed.. :)

question...

should we make it so you can ONLY re-load if you are empty?.. or you should be able to re-load at anytime?

the 1-button 'system' is working just fine..

(when you are out of web fluid/cartridges are empty (ie: all green leds are gone).. it plays 'empty' sound clip....if you HOLD the button down for a bit.. it plays re-load sound clip, resets ammo counter, resets green leds..etc)

* all sound clips are 'user changeable'...

but would be nice to have a nice set of sounds to play with and make a demo with. :) (wink wink)..

I think the one button system is good enough just reload when your empty i think that's how the real one would be.

here is demo vid of the current (final?) firmware/code..

webshooter demo 2 - YouTube

(still uploading,.. says 5 more minutes... as of this post.) :)

right not.. it shows that if you hold the button down it will re-load at any time... not just when you are empty...

also shows the red leds that will light up each time under the red bingo chip.. and quickly fade out.

thanks

thanks..

still need to put the:

empty sound clip
re-load sound clip
boot sound clip on the sd card.. so they can be triggered...

(and of course a little quicker/better sounding 'thwip thwip' sound)

hopefully someone will step-up...

might be a while before I get motivated to play with audio programs! lol.

I threw on some dummy audio files.. to show the empty & reload FX..

(still uploading)

havent really found any 'real/good' audio files.. these are all just taken form other projects or the 'net... not quality IMHO...

(still need a boot sound.. maybe a quote from movie?)

Hi, sorry but i got issues with my job and i cannot follow often the thread. BTW i came up with a boot sound for you, sir.
Here it is....i made a cut from a video,
Cheers :)

Hey guys, if anyone's still looking for the center chip, I've modeled one and uploaded it to Shapeways. Feel free to use this for your web-shooters: Chip by taylormcmanus on Shapeways

I'm a total "noob" and 3D modeling, so I apologize if it's not 100% perfect. I haven't had one printed yet, so I don't have any pics of it. But here's how it should look on the shooter.

For absolute best results I would go with Ultra Frosted. The detail that's printed is insane and cleanup work is minimal.

P.S. xl97 I haven't forgotten about you! I'll get to the sound files for sure! Your work has been amazing!

Thanks ES.. (thought we lost ya bud!) LOL..

really just a noob, who likes cool projects! and likes to help out to make peoples props a bit 'better'...(this was a good learning challenge for me!) things are posted for free.. for anyone better to come along and improve if they want!)

I spent a few minutes last night playing with Audacity and trying to clean-up/tweak some sound files....

and while I shortened the 'thwip' clip a bit...

this is really something left to those with more experience than myself! LOL

(and Im not ashamed to admit it!) LOL

Of course.. this is a community project.. so whatever everyone feels is best is what we'll do..... and in the end these sound clips are changeable by you guys..

so you if you want to make a 'fart noise' instead of the 'thwip'... thats your choice.. :)

main shooter sound (thwip)
empty cartridge sound
reload sound
maybe a boot sound? (thinking quote from movie?.. or just a techy sound?)

I have run across a 'problem'.. and thats the battery source/solution..

I was originally 'hoping' a coin cell or some variant might work... but a CR2032 just will NOT cut the mustard.. just not enough current provided..

so I have been searching around to see if there is a replacement?

barring a direct replacement.... I think we're looking at possibly hiding the battery(s) in the leather write band? (you wont see them or anything of course..and should be very thin too)...

maybe like 3 x CR2032 coin cell batteries down/inside one of the leather straps?

thoughts? feedback?

I dont wannt see this project 'die'... but I dont wanna move forward on a project that just isnt feasible to implement in the end either..

so lets talk/discuss.. the stuff this community has done.. Im sure this wont be a big issue!

thanks!

I quote myself in case you missed my previous post :) It's about the Boot Sound of the Shooter...it's the original one, so if you want, you can download it ;)

hmmm.. I thought I had replied to it...

I said 'thanks'.. (kinda could be used as a reload sound)..

(I think its whats being used int he last video link posted too)

barring find a nice movie quote of: "with great power....comes great responsibility"

that will be a great 'boot' sound..

thanks again!! :)

@xl97
Can you give me a quick rundown on what chip / other hardware you are using.
I've used microcontrollers (I use the PICAxe set of chips) in a few props, but I always come unstuck when trying to add sound. Ideally I want to be able to hook a microcontroller up to an SD card with minimal interfacing and use the micro to play back specific files.

It looks like this is what you've done here so as I said above if you could give me a little info on how it works or just point me in the right direction it would be much appreciated.

Arduino minimal circuit design with uSD socket.. :)

Love to see how you solve the speaker and battery 'obstacles' :)

good luck.

I posted the whole schematic and board files..etc..etc (community thread and all) ;)
