So this thread is long due an update:

Still powering through sonnambulus' print which has been a bit of a challenge. The colors are so saturated that the brick gets lost in the blue areas. This has led to us having to basically free draw in the missing areas (some which are very large i.e almost the entire torso, arms and leg sides). On the flip side the colors do look great though.

Here's some recent silicone work you don't see everyday too

Thank you for bearing with us guys. I have all the suits from the list in house (aside from a couple which are still pending delivery). I'll try to make these updates as often as I'm able.

you do not seem to really stretch your fabric out... do you just lay it flat and sort of taught??

There is no reason to stretch the Fabric

More freestyle brick. This is a one time thing you guys, please don't send us any prints with non-visible brick areas lol. It takes more time and I can't honor our regular price on these should we ever do another one. Nevertheless, I think it's looking pretty alright!

Home stretch on Sonambulus's print. This has been the most time consuming print we've worked on so far, but the results will be worth it, we hope.

I can't afford to have your services but could you help out a spidey fan with how to make the spiders like yours. I really like how you get it so smooth. is it silicone?

Yep, it's Dragon Skin silicone that has been tinted red (or whatever colour necessary). I can't speak for El Fett, but my method is to outline the spider with puff paint, let that dry, and then pour in the Dragon Skin. The puff paint acts as a retaining wall and holds the silicone in shape.


El Fett, I've got a question for you. What is your opinion on mixing latex and puff paint? How does the endurance and application compare to regular puff?

Yup, same method. As far as adding latex, I find it adds a much needed elasticity to the webbing which are easier to break. The smaller honeycomb or brick patterns don't require latex because they aren't laid in a way that the stretch can break the small patterns. Mclean shared this pro-tip with me a while back too.

This sucker is FINALLY done! Definitely the most labor intensive print thus far cause it required all sorts of measuring, tracing and ruler using due to the lost brick in the pattern but I think the rich colors will make for a great looking suit, once sewn!
