Space 1999 MPC commlock

Made this recently. As with the stun gun, I decided that I wanted a non functioning but solid replica. I filled the whole thing with milliput before putting the back panel on. It is indeed, solid and quite weighty too.

That looks fantastic. Did it come with metal details?

Thanks. No, there are chrome plastic parts. I used the two detail discs, but made the tube tip from some aluminium tube.

That Miliput multiplies the cost though. Is it solidly packed or just lining the walls?

Solidly packed! It probably only used one packet or so. I did put some other scraps inside that had the right sort of weight.

Wouldn’t small ball bearings and epoxy have been cheaper?

I doubt it! As it was, I possibly overdid the weight. If I'd filled it with steel bearings, I'd be able to knock nails in with it!
Mind you, I'm assuming milliput is relatively cheap everywhere, I'm not all that far from where they make it.
