I have had the major components of this project for years and finally decided to build it. The body of the rifle is a Marx toy machine gun and the grip is a Kaiser camera shoulder stabilizer. I found a damaged toy gun so I didn't fell guilty sacrificing a potential collectable for the sake of a prop build. The stabilizer I bought was not the exact Kaiser model, because of course it wasn't. It was also heavily altered by the previous owner. As I started to refurbish it, I thought for laughs I'd check E bay for any other Kaiser stabilizers and to my surprise there was one correct model. So I bought it and used it instead. I'm still rehabbing the first one and plan to use it in a future Space 1999 esque project. There are also acrylic tubes and a chrome drain pipe.
My Marx gun did not come with a scope so I scratch built one along with the mounting bracket. I also changed the fastening of the acrylic tubes from side mounting to bottom mounting. My thought was that it would be easier to do. It may well have been but my method still took three pieces of 3" dia tube to get it right. I went with a gray and black color scheme because all black is boring. All in all, I'm happy with it. Glad to have this off the bucket list.
