I was contemplating doing a Who themed skirt suit and wearing it to the party, assuming I can get the fabric in time.
As for the vest, wear it over the jacket. The Doctor would. You should too.

Well flights havent been arranged yet because they just opened registration, and im not the one making them.
Complications include:
The following week is midterms, and with the time change it might be difficult transition.
I dont exactly live near the airport and id have to be really nice to get a ride.
But i will see what i can do. I know for sure i will be in the area starting tue evening though

we are doing the midway room..I went to DB a month or so ago to check out the rooms...here are a few pictures \
the Midway Party Room which is pretty large and the cheapest of the three rooms..Midway Party Room: Private banquet room with a movie theater marquee above the entrance for customized greetings. Includes a screen, LCD projector, microphone, wireless Internet and CD/DVD/IPOD player. Seats 40 to 120 guests

Midway looks great! Should be plenty of room. I was thinking we were going to be in that one split-level room. It's BIG, but always bugged me that it was split level. We seem to always have the props in the tiny part, and the rest is for dinner/hang-out. not good.
As for ProtoKev, I would like to suggest that we put together a TOTALLY informal get together the night before, maybe just get together for a drink or two. It would be a great chance to do a little pre-partying, and would also allow us to include a few more folks whose schedules might not line up.
If nobody else is up for it, I would TOTALLY hang out with Kev just to meet the dude. So kev, worst case, you and I should get together to talk trash about all the dweebs that were too cool to show up for our MINI prop party! woohoo!!!!

Just wondering, is security ever an issue at these gatherings? It's looking like I'll actually be able to attend this time around, but I'm a little concerned about bringing a few key items (reading through Funky Jedi's thread on paranoia and stolen collections obviously made an impression). I'm not worried about fellow RPFers, just the throngs of savages that will be rampaging through the rest of D&B. Wretched hive of scum and villainy and whatnot.

It's a private room, the rest of Dave & Busters dont even go through it.
Heck, I was unaware that room even existed, last time I was there. :lol
Of course, I was more focused on the pool tables so didn't wander around so much.

It has never been a problem. In all the years I've been attending them, I know of no item that has walked away.
HOWEVER, I DO get freaked out when randoms walk it. Brad, maybe a take away for you is to check with D&B to see if they can put a "private party" sign at the door. in MY mind, it's common sense. i would never just walk into a party and start poking around, but sometimes common sense isn't so common.
Sometimes parents bring their kids in to see the R2, and that's always kinda fun. But yeah, I get a little worried about the randoms, if ONLY because they may not know how to handle/touch things that could be delicate.

That has never stopped people from coming in. EVERY party we've had there always has a few randoms drop in to poke around. EVERY time. Each of these rooms are off the main walkway to the game area, or the bar, so there's tons of traffic.
And frankly, our stuff is pretty interesting looking, and attracts peoples eyes. it's not like it's a wedding reception where there's nothing interesting going on :lol

What do you guys think about ALL of us MUST wear a RPF Prop Party badge to attend? That way we will know who is with us and who are walk-ins? No badge, No entry sort of thing...

Prop badge is an excellent idea! Plus it can later be used in our prop displays and a new prop......!

well, maybe we should make a few extra badges just incase some of us forget (i forgot mine last year)
I doubt it will be a problem this year because like Matty said the first room had a lot of traffic...plus, our doors were wide open...our displays does give off a swapmeet kind feeling to it haha
