What part of the comercials/trailers made any of you even think MAYBE this movie would be decent or new... Let alone GOOD?

When are they going to do an invasion movie that seems remotely "real"?

Like orange triangles orbs and lil greys? Now THAT would be freaky!

Giant robot monsters come to take our resources? That's been done what... 2-3 times? LOL!!!!
 
I thought it was alright, it provided some basic entertainment. I had hoped it would be great but most movies fall short of the ID4 bar - Had a few nice moments that surprised me, the effects were pretty good, and they did not try to explain everything to death, as many films seem to have a need to these days. Nothing special, and not something I am likley to buy on dvd but did not feel like I got ripped off going to see it.

I read this morning that it was made on a $10 million budget so you get what you spend in this case. Sounds like they wanted to do a "District 9" but didn't have the imagination.

I was hoping Skyline would redeem the directors of AVP Requiem which was horrible. The teaser trailer looked really good. But things aren't looking good now from reviews.
 
Which is worse, the movie or the chili?

The back story of the production, I like: "Ambitious low budget movie gets big release".
 
It doesn't even deserve praise for the CG FX.As others have pointed out, they ripped off the Alien designs from The Matrix and the basic plots of Independence Day and War of the Worlds. This film lacks originality at every possible opportunity.The ending? Let's just say it lacks one and was/is setting itself up for a continuation.That has to be the real kicker there.They are actually serious about making another one of these :confused
 
I have a fairly high tolerance for bad big screen movies, but this one just sucked. Looks like a syfy channel movie that someone spent too much money on. The only part I thought was cool was the stealth fighter flying towards the alien ship. Everything else was lame. One "alien" looked like a cross between the Matrix grabboids and ID4 aliens. Silly stuff.

I saw this movie (for free thanks to this thread) and I have to say I agree with most everyone about the film, The ONE thing I did like about it was it took place in BROAD DAYLIGHT, in most instance, not at night, or during a rainstorm, or fog, or massive spaceship sun blotting out. The effects during the daylight I enjoyed.
 
A coworker told me that this movie was a good rental. Not great, but good. With low expectations, I went by the RedBox tonight and gave them a dollar to watch it. Gotta say that I thought it was decent. I had low expectations, so maybe that helped. The effects were really good, acting was good, ending was eh. We really needed a bit of explanation to some of the story. 10 million was spent to make it, if they could have doubled that maybe they would have had a really good movie.
 
I saw this in theaters. At first I thought the movie was alright, but as it went on, I was bored and thought it was one of the stupidest films i've ever seen. I'll never watch it again. I wish I could of gotten a refund.
 
Saw this last night.
I got it from a friend as a 'ahem' file... And so glad I did.

Got about 30 minutes in, sighed and started skipping forward a few minutes each time. Less than a minute later the film was over. I read a synopsis and it seemed I missed nothing by skipping ahead.

Pretty pretty, look at our SFX, almost nothing in terms of story or character development.


Then deleted it and watched some episodes of Airwolf instead!! :lol
