Silicone P1 Suit Evolution. Pg41 Hands Video 19/07/13

cool thanks, Im still trying to decide whether to work the new body sculpt in wet clay or chavant... was going to build up first using paper mache then add clay ... not done anything on this scale before !!

Thanks

My youngest who is now 5'8 at 14 years old has expressed his interest, well......... i say interest , he said " MINE " when i said it was done now, so i think i will have to repaint it for him in the coming year or so.

Maybe a custom for him, add another hunter to the list.
Hopefully my son will express some interest in it as well glad to hear that you are keeping the Pred in the family. I'm loving your suit progress Lee and I can't wait to see the rest of it come together.

How's that dummy coming along? I was thinking the other day about how to stiffen up the dummy. I broke quite a few bones as a kid and it dawned on me, why not locate and order the fiberglass wrap that they use on casts? I spoke to a neighbor (Doctor) about obtaining said supplies and he recommended calling a doctor's office and going that route, which is probably what I'll be doing. At any rate, just thought I'd throw that out there as an idear...

Well the dummy is still just sat there in the garage, i have the fibreglass ready to go , but spare time has been very hard to find, but i hope to get onto it shortly.

thanks for the info on the medical sstuff, but i have the supplies already

Necro posting Usurper.

Actually its a valid update, well more of a funny ( to me ) update.

Duct tape dummy is gone, its history, the reason being is this, and maybe something to think about for others. IF you are making a duct tape dummy, make sure you do not plan to loose any weight in the near future.
Due to me loosing 24lbs so far, the duct tape dummy's waist is now 4 inches bigger than my current sized waist, and my ass is 1 inch smaller, this is all before clay is thrown at it.
thus the dummy is no good to me ( waist of time, duct tape and resin )

Now i have sort of set myself a deadline of the end of the year to get this suit done, i have been messing about and thinking way too much instead of just doing.

Earlier today whilst clearing up the destroyed dummy, ( i decided he had to die ) i found 3 bags of alginate ( bought a long time ago and well out of date )

So i decided what the hell, i will take a cast of one of my hands to start sculpting ........new hands, well one anwyay. This brings me back to more doing, and less thinking, whilst being all ACTIVE with my suit stuff, i made the box, mixed the alginate and plunged in my hand. anyone spot the mistake?

forgot the VASELINE !! i decided to just suck it up and hope my hand came free, so , 10 minutes later of walking around looking like a poor mans hellboy, my hand must have started to sweat alittle and slipped out. maybe i have something oily on my hands that helped.

Yay.... one win for blind luck.

I have now poured plaster in and i am waiting to see if the alginate worked.

I did forget to give the mould a shake to get any air bubbles out, but i am sure i can fill any that are there. Also i only had enough alginate to do about 2 inches up my wrist, so i made a rough wall inside the top of the mould box with chunks of foam, hoping it has roughly extended the wrist length, even though it will be a fair bit thinner than my forearm, i can easily bulk it out with clay.

give it a few hours and i will hopefully post a pic of the hand before i start sculpting in the next few weeks.

All i have to do now is figure out how i am going to sculpt the damn body, being as i cannot be botherd to go through the duct tape dummy again

yes i am rambling, so i will be gone now.

Well you said you had the legs sorted right??.... like I said...just man up and make another DTD of your torso! That's not half as unpleasant as the lower half..... DO EET!

Well my old leg skins are 2 inches bigger around the stomach now grrr. so i guess its a new start for them also.

Hey...you could be in my position.. with NOTHING to start with lol... You can do it man!.. Just have a few drinks beforehand and all will be fine. Look on the bright side... no more chunky pred

Your suit is going to look awesome. I can't wait to see everything come together.

Here are a few pics, as it seemed to work ok.

Box, taped together and then duct taped over the seems to stop any leakage.

didnt take any other pics until i put the plaster in, as i was not sure this had worked. but here the box mould has been removed and you had just about see the extension inner wall made from foam.

Then the hand, you can see the rough wrist extension, which is pretty much perfect length for what it is need for.

Ah, Lee, you've found the one downside to losing weight. I had the same thing happen recently with my suit pants (Which I had not worn for well over a year). When I put them on, I quickly realized that the majority of the 30 lbs I lost had resided in my arse and the cuffs were all droopy around my ankles. It's a good thing my mother-in-law knows a thing or two about tailoring...At any rate, sorry about the loss, but as Lauren stated, it's better than the alternative: Jenny Craig Pred (Hopefully, you guys have Jenny Craig weightloss programs over there, otherwise that joke is gonna tank)...

Pretty stoked to see your hand turn out OK. I actually planned on starting on my hands in the very near future and was wondering how far to take them down the wrist. Glad to see yours came out intact and I look forward to seeing this progress (I'm totally copying whatever you do, lol). What sort of reference pics of the hands have you accumulated?

Hey Brad, yeah im happy but annoyed at the same time hehe.

As for Hand reference, i have a couple of photos, but i am currently trying to source some more pics, to make sure i get fairly accurate.

And copy away, as long as you do not expect mine to be 100% accurate

Ps, heard of the jenny craig thing so dont worry ,the joke was heard

Yeah got it thanks dude, pity there are no sculpt pics about as its more the sculpt details i am worried about than the paint up

Mannequin arrived, and i have made some L brackets to position the arms away from the body and slightly wider than they will naturally hang when wearing the suit. then i filled the gaps with builders expanding foam and trimmed roughly to shape.

The dummy is 6'2 the same height as me,so the length is great ( although he stands slightly taller than me due to the stand ) all his dimensions are smaller than me, so it is just a case of fleshing him out.

torso wil be sculpted 1st and moulded, then legs.
