Re: "SILENCE!!! I KEEL YOU!! Achmed sculpt and buildup
Okayyy . . .yet another long overdue project getting some finishing touches.
Achmed has been a long project, and has been a huge learning experience.
BUT, I'm ready to wrap it up, and wanted to show some older, in progress shots before I move onto the final shots of him finished.
Head is slush cast in two halves, with jaw done in a single slush/brush in casting. Skull halves are backed with rigid foam, just in case of a drop.
His skull got a grey pimer, and the painting was fun. More on that later.
I had to extend and resculpt his collar bones, as they didn't "look right." Now that they've been extended, the head can sit just right.
The head now has a nice traditional "stick" going from the strong plastic spine to the thick cast top of the head, where it's been attached with a screw. Another screw in horizontally from the base of the skull gives it good anchor, as well as a secure holding spot should mechanics be added to it. The screws will be obsurced under Achmed's turban.
The jaw was secured with two screws, nice and tight, so that the jaw is poseable.
The eyes and eyebrows went in last, and the eyes required four total refits before I was happy with how they moved. More on that later as well.
More to come in the next few days!
