So glad you’re making the chainmail shirt! What’s it made out of? I have a sideshow one that hasnt been modded, I’d like just a neck piece to show it peeking out of his collar! Thanks!

The chainmail is stainless steel. I'll be offering the fabric separately too for those that just want to display it as it's own accessory.

Thanks! Do you think you can offer just a piece that can go around his neck, for an unmodded version?

I'd forgotten about this thread. I'd wanted to mod my little Grogu since I got him when they first came out but I never had the time. Finally did it a couple months ago and I am SO glad I did. The character and LIFE you can put into this little fella just by tilting his head or something is wonderful.

In short, I cut the arms and legs off, and made wide holes there and around the neck to allow plenty of movement in the way I knew he would be getting posed. The tripods (two legs, three for the arms and neck) were glued and covered with milliput to attach them to the inside resin piece. On top for the arms/head piece, and actually *inside* the resin block for the legs. Cutting into that and making the space was a PAIN.

Then everything was taped up and the inside filled with expandable foam just to make sure things were held in place without too much weight.
I do need to make him a larger t-shirt or neck piece, because as it stands I'm constantly 'fluffing up' his fabric neck piece to make sure the gaps aren't shown. Oh and after most of these pics I unsnipped the stitch holding his collar to the shoulders of the sleeves. That allows you to 'roll up' the collar a bit more and have the fabric showing under there as it should be. I extended his arms and legs (and neck) slightly to fix his proportions to how he is in the show now.

I love him now though. Here's some pics
