Just a heads up for any U.K. people with pre-orders on Play.com - just noticed that they have increased the price to £249.99, but my pre-order still states £219.99. Ive sent them an email regarding this, as Im cancelling and going with another supplier if thats the case.

My order direct through Sideshow came in at 500 USD, including delivery and taxes.
They say Ive been charged yesterday, although it hasnt come through on my account yet.
Id be pretty peeved off if companies can undercut Sideshows own pre-order prices.Pretty unfair , considering sideshow must be selling it on to a third party as well????????????????????
Mind you, as its sold out, if you cancel your order, would you be able to find another one anyway? I nearly did the same , through Forbidden Planet.

So did my order after all the import duties etc.
Did you get the exclusive version(I did) as that was only available thru SS' site. The one on Play is the ordinary version.

Last info i received from Sideshow was that my vard will be charged the final amount on November 17th and i can expect to receive it one week later (i ordered the exclusive version). I live in the Netherlands.

I just called them and they told me my samaritans are only coming in on the second shipment.
Im still trying to decide if I should cancel one of my orders and just get one. These are a lot of money. :confused what is their value goes down like the MR EE Luke ANH ? I don't usually but things to resell but its always good to have one to trade later on.

Did they have any idea when the second shipment is coming?
So I received mine today...
Honestly, I'm disappointed.
Very little distinguishes this one from the original release. When I heard that they were doing this new one in metal I thought, "Cool - maybe they'll give it some sort of gun blue finish and then go at it with steel wool to reveal the bare metal underneath, and give it a realistic-looking weathering job..."
Nope - it's completely painted, just like the first one, with poorly-done, dry-brushed silver paint for weathering :unsure
Also like the first one, the trigger and hammer do move, but there is no mechanism that connects the two, or that rotates the cylinder - the cylinder just spins freely.
The only thing that's different is the weight... plus, the break-open action is much sturdier, I'm sure.
I got the Sideshow exclusive version, with the light-up tracker rounds, and they're OK, I guess.
The only thing that really impressed me is the base - it's actually pretty nice. And you know what - that's kinda' sad. For as much money as they were asking for these things, they dropped the ball, IMO.

I wonder if it would be worth repainting it and then weathering it the right way? I didnt bother doing that to the first version because it was resin anyway. But it might work well on this one. How does the metal feel? is it a good tough metal or some cheap stuff?

I dunno... I had always meant to re-do my first one too, but never got around to it. This one might be a better one to experiment with. But ya know what - why should we have to? Why can't these things be done right in the first place?
The metal seems sturdy enough - the thing weighs a frikkin' ton.
Maybe I'll try to go dig my first one out of storage, and take some side-by-side comparison shots this weekend...
