For some reason, that ESB Marmit Vader doesn't look nearly as good as the ANH one to me. Does anyone else think it's a little "off"?

Well, for one it is too small. :rolleyes

Would totally LOVE the Marmit ANH Vader... that just looks so cool.

No, that comparison pic of the Marmit ANH Vader and the small ESB Vader is the Medicom version. The marmit ESB Vader is the stand alone pic.

This is the Marmit ESB Vader I was talking about.

Whoops, guess I wasn't completely awake there... hehe... honest mistake. Well, the Marmit ESB definitely looks better than the Screamin'/Kaiyodo Vader I have, much more accurate in the face and dome, which is mostly what I look for, though, I still like the ANH version better. :lol

The ESB Marmit looks good in the second picture, but the first and third pics just don't look right to me. The helmet looks WAY too big for the body. Does anyone else think so or is it just me?

I agree, but, like the SS 1/4 Vader, the pics do not do it justice. :)

You guys are to damm picky the helmet as well as the other stuff on the figure is all sculpted by hand. THey arn't supposed to be 100% accurate in scale. Some people are never happy.

When you're paying $350 for a statue it should be as close to accurate as possible. I'm not saying it has to be PERFECT, but for that price it shouldn't be a huge disappointment either. Like I said earlier I'm keeping my order for the 1/4 Vader, but if I get it and it looks unacceptable the thing will most definitely be going on eBay. :confused

I totally agree......$350.00 is a sizeable chunk of change. So if we do not let SS or any of the other company know that we as a consumers, let alone fans are not happy with a sub-standard product, then they will just release it as is. Which honestly takes away from the fans of this genre.

I would point out that something like Vader's armor can be 3D laser scanned, as Gentle Giant is fond of touting, so AFAIK there is no reason to NOT have it be "perfect" except for arbitrary aesthetic reasons.

Someone over at Rebelscum just got their Sideshow Vader and posted some pics. Here's a shot of the infamous helmet/mask that's been the main thing in question for months now.

While still not perfect, to my eyes it certainly looks better than the official pics SS was feeding us, but I'd be interested to hear what others think of the final product.

That's one unflattering angle... or else the mask just looks that bad - as the Rubies Standard helmet...

Not worth my money.

I personally think it looks a lot better than the pics from Sideshow's site.

I was very nervous about it but once I saw some of these pictures, I felt a lot better.

Sideshow really needs to hire a better photographer IMO. Almost all pieces look better in person or from owner's pics.

Very nice:

I saw this pic on the statue forum, and I have to agree with you Gru. I never doubted Sideshow on this piece. ;)

Neither did I. This is definitely an I told you so moment.

Damn, I can't wait until I get mine.

That pic right there shows the statue is DEFINITELY better looking than was indicated by any of Sideshow's crappy photos. While it's still not 100% screen accurate, it looks good enough that I seriously wouldn't care once it was on display in my house. I think I may have to reinstate my order w/ SS after all because it's just too cool to pass up. :thumbsup

Agreed 110%.....

...to me as far as proportions go...the mouth vent is too big, throws the whole look of the helmet off. What bothers me more, is that this is supposed to be an ANH Vader and the helmet is wrong.....no widow's peak, etc.... For $350, I would expect all details to be spot on....

It absolutely is Brent; and, at $350, it is a steal. I'm in wave 2, so mine should be shipping soon. :D

Well, as I said before, even though it's not perfect the final product looks much better than any of the pre-production photos SS was feeding us. Obviously, for those who expect a statue to be 100% screen accurate this will not meet their expectations, but I still think it's a pretty awesome representation of Vader for the money(especially when you consider an Attakus Vader can run you $1-2k).
