So I finally got around to converting my MP5SD5 AEG into Jayne's rifle from Serenity. I've had this thing hanging from my wall for nearly a year now, and thought it was about time for an overhaul
I built the magazine around the existing one (a standard curved MP5 mag), and consequently it's not at quite the right angle, but I thought it was worth the small sacrifice in accuracy for the functionality.
The flashlight is a modified Vortex, mounted on a slightly cut-down MP5 claw mount.
The additional greeblies on the barrel are made from various sizes of steel tube bolted on. The silencer is modified with a plastic plumbing ring and the front section of another flashlight.
I constructed a three-point sling from the handy guide at Arine's airsoft, for around $10.
Shooting up the back yard:
While I was waiting on various bits and pieces to arrive I thought I'd have a go at the MP5k. I ended up using a $20 airsoft, which seemed to be the only one I could find with the correct 'D' shapes. I modified the grip to add the 'curves' using sculpy, and replaced the barrels with metal ones. The mag is a real MP5 straight, cut down.
Finally, I decided to do another Colt 1911 based on the pic shown on the recent Propstore piece. I picked up a nice airsoft with the correct trigger, hammer and rear fin from Redwolf in Hong Kong.
The Mp5k & Colt don't fire, btw
