Sculpting using beeswax.

I have a small figure I want to sculpt at about 1/6th scale. I have found references that beeswax was used in the past for sculpture. Some examples go back to the Egyptians. I did a search on beeswax here and could not find anything worth while. Has anyone used beeswax for making figures prior to resin casting them?

I'm sure this was done the same way jewelry is still done today with wax.
Difference is, now it isn't straight beeswax, it may be something else and you can buy it in sheets, blocks, "wires," etc.
Using carving tools and heated implements, you can get a lot of detail. It's very meticulous work though. Clay is easier to work with and less fragile to sculpt.

I´m using pure beewax for sculpting lifesized Waxworks. I´m a professional Sculptor. I buy it from a company called Stockmar.
