I can certainly understand that but the reason I just signed up here was solely to address my issue with the TCM 03 Backup purchase in public since one-on-one email exchange with Dirk has not gotten me anywhere for the past half year... But thanks and YES I will definitely discuss this with the MODs as well and not just on this forum. I have been so extremely uber-patient thus far but now my patience is no more! Thanks!

I understand and know the feeling. Let them know offline that way this doesn't escalate and become a problem. Best of luck to you and maybe you guys can work it out. :thumbsup

ITS definitely a backup mask it can be spotted in one of the interviews on the extras DVD. Andrew even mentioned that pretty much all the masks he wore were destroyed by the end of filming.

Now from my limited understanding, the pictures I got, for the majority, were the same or from the same 'roll' as the pictures which used to be up on wickedprops.com, allegedly depicting THE or one of the Hero masks from TCM03, before the mask was sold. Now the hairless, gray mask that was auctioned off at Newline I was told is a different mask, sometimes even referred to as being only a stunt mask, not even a backup. However, I never physically laid eyes on either, nor did I take a DNA sample (lol) of either to be able to know for a fact. That there must have been more than just one screen used hero (in one Fangoria issue they were talking about how the foam hero masks were all getting soaked and destroyed by the artificial rain and had to be constantly replaced) is clear, there must also have been multiple backup AND stunt masks. However, pictures of any of these others I have not yet seen. The only pictures I have seen so far are the ones Dirk's posted, the wickedprops site's pictures, screen shots both before and behind the scenes and this one attached: So in short, I have no clue which is which but all I do know is that the picture up on the left side Dirk's told me was showing my backup but clearly this picture must have been taken sometime shortly after the 2003 production and I wasn't there to verify one or the other...

haha, same thing happens to replicas as well....

kinda hard to trust people these days....

Very true, some replicas (Myers mask replicas for one) have, in the absence of originals, reached proportions in value that are easily rivaling real deal screen used stuff... And I've gotten seriously burned on some replica deals there as well...

I didn't mean value or trust issues. I meant the fact that they are replicas.

Never any doubts there :lol

Ever seen anyone cast doubt or trying to prove a possible burn because a replica is in fact an original :lol:lol ?

I have that photo and a bunch more, they were taken by the original winner of the 2003 auction, it's a hero backup that never made it to hair. Dirks so called hero was also unused.
