Re: Iron Man Detail Pieces

Hey guys just a quick update to show how far along i am with the lower palm. It is very difficult to model so its gonna take a day or two to finish it :)

Heres the progress so far:

Ill work on it some more tomorrow and after that then the thumb guard and the fingers! :)

I did mold white strong and flexible and its way too porous. You need to use white, frosted, ultra or transparent detail.

I'd be curious to know the final texture of xrobot's cast!

Re: Iron Man Detail Pieces

I just recieved a reply from Xrobots. He says the white strong & flexible worked well when he molded his hip pod and while the pieces are pretty thin (mine are usually 1 mm thick), you can reinforce them if you want to give it some extra strength for either molding or wearing

White Strong & Flexible is very porous, yes. However it takes enamel very well, so sealing it before molding would be advisable.
It's a great material for prototyping, but it definitely needs some surface work before I'd call it finished.

Re: Iron Man Detail Pieces

Hey everyone sorry for not updating ive been busy trying to get this finished up. Its a lot harder than i thought it would be so its taking a little bit longer than i expected.

BUT!

I am almost done with the lower palm. I just gotta move some pieces around and hollow it out and ill be done!

Re: Iron Man Detail Pieces

Hey guys.

Theres been a little problem :(
Recently, someone (i have no idea who) had purchased 2 Mk II/III Arm Missiles from my shapeways shop. This morning, i recieved an email from shapeways that my model had too thin walls and could not be printed, resulting in the order to be cancelled :cry

So to whomever bought those missiles from my shop and anyone else who wants them as well, give me a day or two and i will fix the 3D model to make the walls a bit thicker and upload it back onto shapeways for future ordering for future suits :)

Re: Iron Man Detail Pieces

Hey everyone!

I fixed the 3D model for the Mk II/III Arm Missile so it should now be good to be purchased AND successfully 3D printed :)

Re: Iron Man Detail Pieces

I just ordered one of your ears to try out. Hopefully it fits my helmet size.
Looking at picking up the missiles and launchers in the future.
