Screen Accurate Iron Man Parts

Re: Iron Man Detail Pieces

Hey guys. I was asked to make iron man missiles of various suits so i decided to start with the little tiny forearm missles from the mark VI suit. Each one is about an inch and a half long but they were very difficult to model becuase of the tiny small details and it was also hard to get the proportions just right.

It is now in my shop and instead of having the option of printing it in red like the other pieces, i put up frosted ultra detail as an option. I recommend that one if you really want the little details to show up good since each one is very small and the details are even smaller.

Thats it for now! :)

Re: Iron Man Detail Pieces

Pretty big update today, everyone.

I literally had NOTHING to do all day today so i saw it as a chance to 3D model like crazy so i got to work.
I finished quite a lot for one day and its time to add them to my shapeways shop!

I did a forearm missile for the mk II/III, updated hip pod for mk IV/VI (more accurate), elbow and shoulder joints for mk II/III, and the joints for the boots (hero and CG) for mk II/III and IV/VI suits, which should fit into Zabana's wonderful boot model when scaled at 1.000000.

hip pod (my old one had circle holes. Looking at more pictures, i realized that the holes are rectangle):View attachment 97823

And finally, the Mk II/III arm missile: View attachment 97818

p.s. I had noticed that the hero version of the arm missile is quite different that the CG missile.

CG: View attachment 97825.

Does anyone, by chance, have ANY other pictures of the CG missile??? Thats the only one ive found and it, as you can see, barely gives off the shape of the missile let alone the details. If anyone has another picture(s) of it, that would help a lot for modeling reference and would also be greatly appreciated :)

Re: Iron Man Detail Pieces

Hey there! I've finished my cuts and I'm about to start putting my helmet together. Two pieces that might be nice to have for builders would be the "ears" and "teeth".

Re: Iron Man Detail Pieces

It might save you some hassle, but this person might let you take the hand file and modify it. Shapeways I mean it looks like it has a bit of the same design to it as your photo above, but you could probably use it to make something better.

Re: Iron Man Detail Pieces

Thanks for the tip :) but i think ill have to make it completely from scratch because that hand doesnt look proportionate to a real human hand

Re: Iron Man Detail Pieces

That would be 50 kinds of awesome, considering I am pepping Zabana's hand right now.

They say the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over exepecting different results. I say it's trying to pep two hands and two boots from Zabana's pep files. :)

Re: Iron Man Detail Pieces

Ill work on it some more later on today and show some more pictures so you guys can see what it is :)

Re: Iron Man Detail Pieces

Hey everyone little update.
Recently, someone had contacted me about the 3d printing part of my models. His thoughts, and this is just his opinion from his personal experience and i am are not trying to tell you what to buy or do, are that the White Strong & Flexible material is not the best thing to 3d print with.
According to him, its not very paintable, too brittle to wear, and not good for molding.

I am currently waiting on information about which material is good/better to 3d print with so if anyone is going to buy from my shapeways shop, i would suggest to wait a little bit until i get the right information. Once i am informed, i will add that material(s) to my models in my shapways shop, however i will still keep the White Strong & Flexible option up just in case anyone still likes to use that material to print with :)

Thats it for now!

Hey guys!

I think i have something you've been wanting :)...

Its the upper palm!

I am currently working on the rest of the hand and once i am done, i will upload all of the parts to my shop and then ill start work on the fingers :)

I plan on making the lower palm connected to the knuckles part and have the "thumb guard" separate for, in theory, more thumb movability like this

Im working on the lower palm/ knuckles right now so i might be done with it in a day or two :)

Re: Iron Man Detail Pieces

That is awesome. Any idea what we're looking at cost wise?

Well thats the thing. For some reason on 123d, it wouldnt allow me to hollow out the model so i had to do it all by hand. I got out as much plastic as i could but there is kind of alot left. With this piece (hopefully the hollowing feature works on the other parts) there is kind of alot of jagged shapes on the inside of the piece to where i dont think itll be wearable. In order to wear it, you would need to sand/ dremel the inside a little bit or mold it and cast it. However because it is a little big, im thinking probably about $33 for this upper palm part from shapeways.
